Xyls marched forward with his aura growing colder and thicker with killing intent by the second, his eyes remained dead and cold as he slowed his pace after a long march. Soon, his march came to a slow halt.
The gates to the Castle of Chaos towered before him with an overbearing height of over 10 metres, the dark colour of the gate and it's intricately interlocked runic patterns gave of an ethereal feel.
A handful of guards stood before the gates, all armed with steel swords and shields. Some were completely armoured, while others were on grey with very little armour on their body.
One of the guards, a red haired male with a carefree expression on his face glanced to the side to see the elf who stood before them. He was skeptical at first, but after a while he smiled warmly.
"Huh, you're back already Xyls?" The tall red haired guard called out as he looked around vigilantly, after discovering Xyls was alone he sighed in relief, "With you coming back alone, I assume that they weren't friendly visitors?"
Xyls only wore his crazed smile as he began to take quick steps forward, his gait was steady as he moved forward. He didn't stop moving, marching forward with his eyes narrowed down upon his target.
"Hey Xyls! Cat got your tongue?" One of the guards, a tall armoured male with a hulking frame glared down upon Xyls. He was a little suspicious as he knew Xyls personally.
Xyls who he knew as a very vocal elf, would not be so quiet unless something had happened to him. Had he encountered something strange when he made contact with the guests?
Xyls, who maintained his strange smile suddenly dashed towards one of the guards. Before the poor fellow could react, he lashed out - throwing a blow at the face of the partially armoured guard.
"Boom!"
In an explosion of wind, the attacked guard was blasted away by the punch like a ragged doll. A heavy wound was dealt to the male, whose skull had caved in as a result of the powerful blow - a horrific sight to the beholder.
"Holy!" The red haired guard from earlier yelped, his eyes widening as he witnesses a fully grown male being blasted away like that. His face paled as he glared at Xyls who just shook his hand after unleashing such a terrifying attack.
The red haired guard was shocked! The Xyls he knew was definitely not this strong! For the Xyls he knew to achieve this, there was a high chance the elf would go weak and pale - losing a lot of energy after the blow due to his poor strength.
But the monster in from of him, seemed perfectly fine after the display of strength. He seemed even ready to attack someone else, and the thought of it raised storms in the hearts of the guards.
"Oh I'm sorry, but you see I'm not Xyls. I'm just here to beat you all up, simple as that." Xyls spoke in a soft tone, his voice crisp and clear. The smile on his face widened crazily as he took a few steps forward, his gaze settled on the red haired guard.
Beat us all up? All the guards blinked before looking at one another with strange expressions on each of their faces. They were all speechless.
Silence, a long unperturbed silence.
None of the guards moved, none of them even tried to either attack or escape. They just stood in silence with cold expressions on their faces, all scrutinizing the enemy with sharp eyes, coming to a final conclusion— Xyls, was definitely possessed!
With that terrifying display of strength earlier, Xyls was definitely possessed by someone very powerful, as a weaker demon wouldn't be able to unleash such terrifying prowess through a medium.
The guards stood their ground, a few of them frozen in fear with their body temperatures dropping by the second. Some were visibly quaking in their boots, the sword held in their hands vibrating softly.
"Hahahahaha! You mortals are so pathetic, in the face of power you have cast aside the dignity and honour of a Chaos Guard. You have lost your usefulness to the kingdom, and deserve to be punished."
Watching Xyls talk in a voice that was unlike his own, the red haired guard was deeply unsettled. His eyes were burning with rage as soon as Xyls finish with his "sermon" and a fire in his heart was ignited.
"Mere cowards do not deserve the authority to guard the holy abode of the Chaos Castle, you're better off hiding behind the gates. At least, you wouldn't be so pathetic as you are now."
Xyls shook his head and sighed deeply, his sigh was prolonged for seconds, and when he was done, the elf clicked his tongue. His gaze still settled on the red haired guard who was glaring back at him.
At that minute, the eyes of the two guards locked and something seemed to have snapped at that second. It was like, a trigger had been pulled and a beast was set loose upon the peasants.
"Argh~~~!" The red haired guard roared madly as he dashed towards his opponent, raising his sword to hack down at the head of his target. His body was bubbling with energy, and his aura agitated.
Xyls looked up, staring back at the descending blade with his brow raised. He didn't even flinch in the face of death, his legs rooted deeply into the ground as he clenched his fists tightly.
"Well, it seems there is a wolf… Among the cowardly sheep…"
