Silence as thick as a bowl of curd continued to ferment in the Yin house. Yin Zhu glanced at her sister who was cooking in the kitchen and placed the duster in her hand to one side.
She walked over to where her sister was standing and smiled at her before saying, "Sister Xia, do you want me to help you with something?"
Yin Xia didn't even raise her head as she finished chopping the onions which she placed inside the pot and started to make her way towards the bacon sitting in the cabinet right above the rice vat.
"Sister Xia—"
Just as Yin Xia spoke, at the same time, someone knocked on the door. Yin Zhu, who was peering at her sister hopefully, turned and looked at the door.
"Go and open the door," Yin Xia finally spoke to Yin Zhu when she saw her staring at her like a kitten waiting for her mother to caress her.
No sooner than Yin Xia spoke those words, Yin Zhu's eyes lit up.
