Chapter 26 - Pretty Face

QUAN

"Please don't kill me!" Quan cried as he ran. Several times he stumbled and almost fell, but he balanced his body.

The two assassins gave chase while laughing.

They were Quan's worst terror and his worst nightmare.

Quan broke through the building with the gate closed. He fell and scraped his hand from rubbing against the rough stone floor.

Two men laughed at the front gate. They took out their swords and stepped slowly, savouring every terror on Quan's face.

"I'll pay whatever you ask, but please, let me live." He crawled backwards, entering the old building.

"I didn't expect that there was such a cowardly young man in Kun! Are you really the third prince of Kun?"

"I think he's an adopted child. Maybe he's a child of the Ning Dukedom!"

The two attackers laughed. They hastened their pace. One of them stepped on Quan's back, stopping him from walking.

"Damn it, I feel like I'm about to kill a woman," one of them said, preparing to draw a sword at Quan's back.

"Maybe she's a woman?" The man squatted down and pinched Quan's cheeks together, observing him closely. "Yeah, she's pretty for a man. I think she's a woman."

His friend laughed. He decided to have fun tugging on Quan's pants. "Hey, look, he's a man!"

"Ah, damn devil! I haven't felt the warmth of a woman's body in a long time!" He got up from his squat and grabbed Quan, dragging him towards the floor's curtains.

"What are you want to do, guys? Please, no!" Quan struggled as he realized he was about to experience the worst thing in his life.

"I'll just wait outside, okay. Ater you done, kill that prince immediately." The second man replied, putting his sword back in.

Quan crossed his arms over his chest, protecting himself, but the man was too strong. He tore off Quan's clothes and then took off his clothes.

"Please no!"

"Blame yourself. Why were you born so beautiful as a man, dammit!" He laughed and forced Quan to turn around.

Suddenly someone grabbed the man, slitting his throat from behind. Fresh blood was pouring down on Quan's smooth white body.

"Aaargh!" Quan shouted. Immediately she shut her mouth, as instructed by the dagger-wielding young girl.

"Shhh, don't make a lot of noise." The girl took Quan to hide behind a giant Buddha statue. He pulled on the wooden floor. There was a big hole in it. "You come in. Let me finish the other one."

Quan stepped into the dungeon and found several young children, women, and old men looking at him strangely.

They are residents of Shicuan.

For a moment, the door closed, and the sound of clashing swords was heard outside. Quan takes a peek, but two old men pull him back.

"No, you must listen to Miss Shushu's orders."

"But she's only a woman. She needs our help."

"No, you don't argue," said the old woman. "Follow Shushu's orders, later when it is safe, later when the Han troops leave and the Kun troops arrive, then we will come out."

Quan found the citizens' faces so severe they believed the girl named Shushu. The girl was not an ordinary girl.

A crashing sound startled them. From between the wooden floors, Quan peeked. Shushu was pinned down by the sword man, and the tip of his sword almost pierced his neck.

He wanted to help, but the refugees pulled him down.

"No, no, you have to follow Shushu's advice!"

"You cowards!"
