LAN
The pathway up the mountain was surrounded by brambles, and dense forest obscured the sunshine behind the foliage, while on the other side was a ravine that was getting deeper and darker.
Snowy was able to effortlessly bring Lan to victory. The white breeze runs faster than the fastest horse in the north. The second prince, however, slowed the horse's pace until the third prince caught up.
"If you give up, you have to pay for everything, Brother!" Quan smirked as he drove Lesured into a path lined by tall bushes, never looking back.
"Wait, little brother Quan!" Lan dashed his horse, escorted the brown-haired one. "Junior Brother, what about Eldest Brother?"
"Oh well, let the brute pay! Come on, Brother, the destination city was close at hand. I'll show him that my horse was far better than his war horse!"
"Wait a second. Please bring your horse to a halt. I'd like to speak with you." Lan was forced to halt Lesured by pulling on his saddle ropes.
"What are you doing, huh?" In irritation, Quan turned his horse around.
"Sorry, but listen now." Lan expressed his concerns brother. He told him everything, and Quan quickly recognized the developing problem.
"Never mind," the third prince said. "Come on, let's go to town."
"Never mind? What exactly do you mean by never mind? Lan indicated the path they were taking. "Bian is in serious peril! Come on, we have to help him!"
"Are you sure he on jeopardy?" Quan gave a nasty smirk. "If that true, then, what can you do?" he inquired. "What are our options? What's in it for Brother Bian to receive our help? The only thing is, we're causing him a lot of trouble. It is not worth it. Nothing could be gain."
"Quan, are you thinking about the gains and losses in helping the family?" Lan couldn't believe what he was hearing. "How can you say that?"
"Brother Lan should be aware. In our world, everything must be appraised. In this scenario, there was both gain and loss. I will not do something that was not beneficial, let alone something that would cost me."
"You've changed. You're not the Quan you once were. You're merely a businessman."
Quan gave a nod. "Weak Quan, cowardly Quan, and puppet Quan have all vanished. Kun Quan, the third prince, here I am. That is how I am." He gave a salute in front of his chest. "Consider again. Brother Bian is an expert with swords. If what you assume is true he in sword fight, our presence will only be detrimental to him. We're not very proficient with swords."
Quan's words have some validity. But he had no idea Varis could handle a blade. They are, after all, brothers. "I can't watch my brother fight alone." Lan swung his horse around and spurred Snowy away.
"Lan, Bro! Why are you so daft? Why don't you get it?!" The man's voice became weaker.
Lan returned his gaze; there was no Quan horse chasing him. Their family ties didn't appear to be as strong as Lan had assumed. At this rate, building Kun into a mighty Dukedom would be tough if the three of them couldn't get along, couldn't become a true family.
On this trip, he was able to discern his two brothers' genuine personalities.
"Wait!" The voice of Quan sounded from behind him. He encouraged Lesured to pursue Snowy.
Lan slowed Snowy's sprint, allowing Leisudred to catch up with him.
"Now that I think about it, if I don't help, then it's my loss." Quan doesn't appear to want Lan to realize how much he cares about Bian. He went on to explain, "Besides, if I don't help, I'm going to lose. My reputation will suffer as a result."
Lan grinned contentedly, whatever Quan's cause. It appears that there was always hope to reconcile the family and strengthen the Kun Dukedom!
