Hermes was one of the three world leaders of the human race, who has the flame ability and was the first human to bond with an animalia. His animalia was a Phoenix bird, who appeared to be one of the strongest animalia to ever exist.
Although many do not know this, Hermes was once a disciple of Mr Megan before he became one of the world leaders. Mr Megan was the one who taught him the use of martial arts. He was quite skilled and was the best among the other disciples Mr Megan ever trained. It could be said that the two developed a very special relationship of a father and son.
Hermes was having fun killing beasts in one of the planets that he saw a livestream of Mr Megan's birthday party on his device.
It had been a long time since he last saw the old man, and at the last moment, Hermes decided to head to the Villain faction to say hello to his master.
He was able to use the powers of his animalia to fly back to earth. And thanks to this, he was able to arrive at his destination faster than any spaceship. He passed through the sky border easily, since he was recognised by a lot of the Villain faction soldiers. Not because of his status as the world leader but because he was a registered member of the Villain faction. And this wasn't the first time he will be visiting the faction.
Arriving at the party hall, he noticed that people were dancing while some are eating. Everyone seems to be waiting for the special announcement that will be made by the Faction Leader. To not attract the attention of reporters, he sneaked out of the party hall and headed for the dining hall. Since it wasn't his first time in the faction, he knew his way around the place.
He got inside the dining hall and could see Xash doing something strange with the fork of his hands. Watching his hands carefully, he was able to see what he's about to do. And just before Xash could release the fork of his hands, Hermes had sent his Phoenix to stop the object on its track. The fork was stopped midway before it could reach its target; Jim.
"I see you're quite a strong one. Hmm." Hermes said as he appeared out of the shadow.
Everyone's gaze went towards the voice that was coming from the corner of the room. The sight of a bare-chested man was revealed to them and on his shoulder was a Phoenix with a fork in its mouth.
"Leader Hermes!" One of Jim's brother said and soon everyone realised that it was indeed Hermes. They all bowed slightly as a sign of respect to the world leader.
"Oh, come on. Did I come at a bad time." He walked towards the front and bowed as soon as he got to Mr Megan's seat. "It's nice to see you again master."
Everyone of them knew that Hermes was a disciple of Mr Megan, so they weren't surprised by this.
"What brings you here, Hermes?" The leader asked.
Hermes let out a chuckle before answering. "Master, Isn't it obvious? Today is your birthday. I came for the party."
"You? Party? I know you don't like parties. If it isn't burning down a whole planet, you don't just go around attending parties that you aren't invited to. This is the first time I will see you attend a party." The faction leader said.
Hermes chuckled again. "Okay Master, you got me. I heard you're retiring… you're retiring for good, so I thought I should be here to congratulate you and the new leader. But it seems like the new leader is yet to be determined."
Mr Megan let out a weary sigh as he replied to Hermes. "My boys are morons. I don't know what to do with them." The leader glanced at Jim with his hands slightly stroking his beards.
"Why don't we cast a vote father?" Xash said with a smile. He already knew what Hermes suggestion will be since this scene was the same as the one in the novel. The only difference was that, the Villain in the novel didn't threw a fork at Jim and the scene where Xash and Ri came late to the dining hall, didn't happen in the novel.
From the novel, Hermes had suggested the option of voting to everyone and Jim, back then, had the highest vote. But this time will be different. Xash had Ri on his side, and just before they arrived at the hall, he gave her a few things to do.
Hermes glared at Xash as if he stole something from him. "That was what I was about to say. Are you reading my mind with your ability?"
Xash smiled sarcastically as he revealed a ball of fire from his hands. "This is my ability, I'm a fire ability user." He said.
"Hmm." Hermes replied, although he really didn't believe his words. When Xash about to hurl the fork at Jim, Hermes saw it hover above his hands before it flew towards Jim.
'That's telekinesis ability,… I'm sure of it.' He said to himself, but then, another thought came to his mind. 'Could it be that he has the same ability as Ken, the leader of the Ace Faction?'
A smile appeared on Hermes face as he realised this. If Xash has the same ability as the leader of the Ace faction, then the Villain faction will be feared just as the Ace faction is feared. He would try everything in his possibility to make Xash become the next leader.
"Master, I think casting a vote is a very good idea." Hermes said.
"Then a vote casting it is." The leader replied and Mr Harrison instantly stepped forward from his seat.
"If you're for Xash becoming the next leader, raise your hands. If you're for Jim, let your hands down." Mr Harrison said and soon a few hands could be seen being raised up.
To everyone's surprise, the amount of hands being raised up are a lot more than the ones on ground. Xanny, the number one person who will always support Xash, had her hands raised up. Same for Ri and her sisters. Since her sisters would always do whatever she told them, Ri wrote them a text to support Xash no matter what. They did as she said and raised their hands in support for Xash.
The next set of people where the ones no one was expecting to see raise their hands. The Faction leader; Mr Megan raised his hands, so did Mr Harrison and Hermes.
Seeing that the Faction leader and the world leader was in support for Xash, one of Jim's brother decided to raise his hands. That was none other than Fed, the acting leader of Planet F. He also wanted to claim the position of the faction leader, but he knew he stood no chance, not during a vote like this.
Another reason why he voted for Xash was due to him having a large number of votes on his side. There was a high possibility that he would become the next faction leader, he wouldn't want to be on Xash's bad side, so he decided to go against his brother and vote for Xash. It's not like he and Jim were on good terms in the first place. So he didn't regret choosing Xash over his brother.
"Well, we have a winner." Hermes said with a smile.
