He gave me a soft smile and I couldn't help myself. "Can we do an unbreakable promise?" I asked. I didn't care how it looked. I knew that a unbreakable promise was something the king never gave lightly and considered of great importance. I read it in the real book.
His soft smile and simple chuckle had my smile disappearing. Was this a joke to them? "Sure." He agreed right as a tear fell down.
"Why are you crying? Did something happen to you?" Blake asked as he wiped it away. If only his friendship was genuine.
"I'm just still dealing with what happened." I lied as I wiped the left over tears away. King Alexander grabbed my hand that still was wet before turning it over and cutting my finger with a knife I didn't even see.
Power spiraled around him while the drop of blood twirled in the air. In an instant my blood was making a cuff link on his arm and like that it was done and the blood was gone.
They said that king Alexanders powers became infinite and things that took time for most was instant for him. This alone proved it. I didnt even need to talk. His promise of a passing mark was sealed the moment I asked for an unbreakable promise and he said yes.
"Now explain it." He ordered. Gone was the friendly king and in his place was the king that stabbed his wife to gain power. It was said that he loved her to.
"Okay. I think this page is another test." I started as tears built up. Just looking at the page hurt. How could I be so stupid? How could I not know that this was fake?
"Why do you say that?" He asked as his eyes studied me closely. Every bit of me knew I shouldn't but I couldn't help it.
"I know this book is fake. Why would you put a page that has a dance that opens the realm of color." I snapped. I couldn't sit back. I wouldn't throw my friend under the bus but I refused to play their games all to be thrown away.
"You think it's fake." King Alexanders smirk had me questioning if it was even though I had the real book. His silence told me he was waiting for my reply.
"Well yes why would you put a page that says. A dance with two souls who's hearts are true. Two souls combined through and through. The most powerful souls in all time. Take this dance step by step don't miss a beat or you won't see, the wonders of a portal so bright. You can make anything you want to act right. Color of all emotions and sight. Colors that could change life. Don't read this outloud because it's the law. Don't read this outloud at all." I said my gut churned after I read it. It felt like I messed up.
The small shakes I felt told me I probably made a mistake. I should've never let them know I knew it was fake. "Dance with me." King Alexander said with his hand out. I looked up at him like he was insane. His reply had me confused.
"Do the dance that's on the book exactly not missing a beat and I'll pass you." He said which had me frozen. His hand just hung out in front of me waiting for me to grab it.
"This is a trick isn't it?" I asked softly as I looked up at the high king. They were trying to embarrass me and laugh. The moment I took his hand he would snatch it back and laugh at me.
"Take this dance as a way for me to apologize for going with my son's joke. I thought it was harmless. I didn't realize it would hurt you so much, were you would lose your spark." He said causing a few tears to fall.
"You promise?" I asked. He had admitted that they tricked me so maybe he was sorry. He grabbed my hand and turned it over showing the glowing gold mark that said his words were true.
"One dance?" I confirmed. "One dance without missing a beat. Exactly as the book but you have to guide me that was the promise. The bond will burn once it's complete so you'll know." He said with his hand still holding out.
My gut churned but I ignored it and squeezed his hand. If he embarrassed me I would leave this school and suffer the consequences.
I grabbed the book in my free hand allowing him to help me up and guide me. He was so beautiful and perfect to bad he wasn't a normal God. He would've been perfect for me. That's if he liked me to.
"Let's go somewhere more comfortable." He said as he teleported us out. I wasn't even prepared for the beautiful sight in front of me. Blue crystals filled a room to the brim and it was beyond amazing.
"What's a dance without a beautiful dress." He said right as soft material flowed down my legs. I looked down to a beautiful white dress and my heart fluttered. It was perfect. The cocktail dress was a v shape and it flowed whenever I moved.
"Now let's start." King Alexander wasted no time getting right to business. This was an apology so I definitely couldn't think to much of it. An apology for a cruel joke that could've hurt me if I would've never found out.
