"The relic around the old man was preventing him from using his ability to heal. It was not enough to kill him," Belisarius said as they stared at the half-dead Patriarch of the Lux Family. "Who would do this?"
"The thing inside Dorothy," Rosalind answered, her eyes still glued to her skeleton-like grandfather. "I never thought that he would be treated like this...." Why would Dorothy keep Federico alive? If she took the old man to try and frame Lucas, then it would have been better for her to make use of the situation and kill the old man to fully frame Lucas for the old man's death.
This would have immediately alerted the other members of the Seven Families.
"She wanted to use the old man's body as a vessel," Belisarius uttered.
