This had been sooo boring! All we did was enter and dance although some nobles did try to talk to us and introduce their children we ignored it due to them being backstabbing little cunts who would turn tail after someone of higher power wills it!
Taking another sip of my drink I felt annoyed. I had a high poison resistance that I couldn't manually decrease the potency meaning I could never get drunk! Even with the double strength stuff I brought from one of the best city shops I could find it was still so shit that I only felt a slight buzz. Turning to Lilly it seemed that her resistance was a little low. A deep red blush covered her face as she looked at me a swirling darkness was visible in her golden eyes. She would be purring like a cat in joyfulness if not for the people around us.
I guess that in one way or another she's developing more emotions. Swiping the glass from her hand I gave her a glass of lemonade in place of it much to her discontent. To be honest staying here with these pitiable insects that are nobles was disgusting but I needed to play the fool to destroy the king's reputation amongst the heroes and other nations and then when he is as low as he could go I would kill him and revel in the mist of blood and the blood of the person who pushed me into the labyrinth. Only then could I feel at peace and live a somewhat peaceful life.
I had noticed but played dumb to the fact that the nobles were leaving a few at a time after the king had moved from his seating to talk to the citizens of his empire. He had whispered something into the dukes ears before turning to the heroes and doing the same. Sitting down Lilly rested her head on my arm she was 'tired' from the dancing and social interaction well that's what she said was the reason for her sleepiness. Covering her in my jacket she seemed to feel less tense, melting into me like warm butter. After entering she had been on full guard, after all these were the people I hated most the people who had betrayed me and left me for dead. Even though I didn't care anymore she was so kind and caring that she had been exhausting her magic by constantly using high level barriers and different protection spells to shield us in the case of an attack. She was on constant guard while we walked and danced but she tried to make it look like she was just enjoying herself. Because we are always close to each other I can easily tell when she is hiding something so it wasn't hard to hazard a guess. Usually I would be mad at her for hiding things but due to the occasion I could let it go... for now. Her own mana reserves must have been low by now. I don't want her to hurt herself just for my sake. Slowly I channeled my mana into her startling her awake before calming her down.
Soon enough as I had expected it was just us and the high nobles along with the heroes. I didn't care about them anymore after all Ren was dead I was someone new. I just wanted my attempted killers dead. Hanging my head back I waited for them to come closer to start a convocation before standing up and carrying Lilly before heading towards the door.
"Stop! His majesty wishes for an audience with you"
Slightly turning my head to hide my smile I then turned to Lilly's peaceful face. Pinching her cheek to wake her up didn't seem to work I guess she really was comfortable. A decent flick to the forehead seemed to garner her attention as she slightly opened one of her golden eyes.
"We have an audience with the king"
Slowly waking up I put her down before turning to the impatient noble who was standing waiting for us.
"Let's go."
Sitting on the raised platform on his throne was the king and queen along with their children. The heroes were below them standing in an orderly fashion along with the dukes of the empire.
"You stand before his majesty the king and his loyal servants. Bow your head!"
So much for trying to give them the impression of foreign representatives.
Standing there with a less than impressed face we waited an awkward amount of time before they got the gist of what we were doing.
You impudent fools now before his majesty or we will force you!
Before any action could be taken the king silenced his retinues. Turning to me with a steel gaze he tries his best to be intimidating.
"What are your names? You don't seem to be from around here."
"I am Kaizer and this is Lilly Necron and we are indeed not from around here."
He seemed slightly irritated by my baritone voice but he accepted the informal greeting non the less.
"Hmm I see. I want to know if it was you who cleared the dungeon in baron brightwoods territory."
"But you know I am said person after all we had a little encounter with your men in the barons mansion" Emphasizing the fact that it was his men.
With a slight crease on his forehead it seemed that he was smart enough to receive the slight threat I intertwined. You play dumb and attack me and I'll destroy anything in our way.
"I see. In that case I want you to join the heroes in the dungeons with your team."
"What team? We did it ourselves."
"Insulent How stupid do you think I am to nod on and agree that you cleared a dungeon with only two people."
"I see if that's what you want to think then you are free to continue to guess on our methods."
"Also" his gaze turned to Lilly and a fierce light sparked in his eyes.
"This is my son Ardyn Agidyne you are to marry him as a concubine. Being of common blood you could never be the main wife of my son. However you are a looker maybe I should marry you instead"
Even the heroes looked disgusted all except for a few who looked like they had just lost out on something. I will remember them for later.
Feeling pure disgust but trying to hold my bloodlust I said the only thing I could think of.
Fuck you cunt! You think you can talk about my wife like that I'll flay you alive and feed you to your wife and children!
This came to great shock and surprise to everyone in the room after all he was a king and not even the heroes would talk to him like that.
"You impudent worm of an common adventurer I am king of the empire and one of the strongest beings in the continent. You should bow and pay your respect as a member of this continent's citizenry for even the slight chance to help the heroes and the empire."
"Yeah..No don't feel like it plus I'm not a citizen of this continent."
The king practically exploded exuding an invisible aura of pure rage until the man uttered a single word.

A thick palpable and visible aura of pure death filled the room. Guests of wind pushed people back and caused chaos as the ground cracked underneath the individual's. Lifting his hand in an extravagant show a blue flame fell into his arm before he crushed it in his hand. The flames travelled down his attire until it engulfed him in flames slowly disprecing the flames he wore his adventuring gear as wandering flames created a circle around the couple.
A demon! Quickly kill them!
