it's been weeks since Roman and zamar have been fighting, zamar felt very fed up one day and she packed her stuff, she sneaked out and drove off to her parents.
yildiz the princess woke up, it wasn't a school day for her, actually all the kids were done with their exams, only the ones in primary were to go to school, she went to the bathroom and it was still dark, she knocked at zamars door
"mom?" she called, then she opened and the bed was nicely made, there was no one in the room, she checked the bathroom, then she went to wake her grandmother
"can you please help me prepare lunch boxes for the kids, mom is not around and I'm not going to manage, I woke up very late" she said
yildiz called one of the maids help the kids dress up, then helped the princess to prepare the lunch boxes.
"I'll ask the guard to drive them to school, I won't be able, your grandfather is not well" yildiz said
"okay that's fine, I'll tag along with the guard, where'd mom?" she asked
"I don't know baby, I'll try to call her" yildiz said, Roman walked in all ready to drive the kids
"where are they?" he asked
"they'll be late, they woke up late" yildiz the queen said
"why, where's zamar?" he asked
"we don't know, she's not around" princess said
he ran upstairs to check on her, he went through her closet and her clothes were not there, most of them, he panicked
"mom ask the guard to drive the kids, I'll go look for her in her house" he said
"what's wrong?" princess asked
"her clothes are not there" he said running out, he got to the house it was locked, he got inside and there was no sign of her in the house, he then started calling her, it went straight to voice-mail, he came back home
"did you find mom?" yildiz asked
"no" he sounded very defeated
"mom is missing?" Raymond asked
"not really missing, but she's not around" yildiz said
"where is she?" he asked
"we don't know yet prince, but dad is looking for her" yiodiz said
"is he?" Raymond turned to look at his father
"yes I am, I don't appreciate your attitude Raymond " Roman said
"fine, I'll help you look for her" he said going upstairs, he packed his bag with a few clothes, then came back
"where are you going ?" Roman asked him standing up
"to search for mom" Raymond said
"please brother, don't do that, we are all looking for her, we are, but we can't afford to loose one more person, let's stick to one plan, one person looking for her, don't you think?" yildiz said
"fine, I'll be that person, father you can go to your room, lock yourself in there, wake up later and shout at mom's closet, that's all you've been doing" he then ran out, he called a cab and it took him to his grandparents house, where his mother was.
Roman was very hurt by what Raymond said, he did some self introspection, and Raymond was being honest, Roman somehow blamed zamar for Nnena breakdown, he wished zamar didn't fall pregnant, he wish she didn't agree to get married, he wish she wasn't the good person she is, he wish she was worse than nnena, maybe she wouldn't have gotten jealous, all those thoughts made him distance himself form zamar, and the kids, especially Raymond, he then called zamars parents, and they confirmed that zamar is home, so is Raymond, he drove there.
on his way there, his father got worse, yildiz called the seer to tell them what to do but she said
"my queen, his spirit is home, let him rest, he's at peace" she said
"what? is he dead?" the queen asked
"he's joined his ancestors, I'm sorry my queen, but he's at a place he's better in" she said, yildiz cried
"my son's marriage is falling apart, now this?" she said crying
"your son's marriage will be fine, it will take time for him to realize he's wrong, things are going to get worse from now until a couple of weeks, but once he realizes he's wrong, until he admits he's wrong, then his marriage will be harmonious" she said
"so should I call the family yet?" she asked
"wait for the prince to come back, call him so long" she said
Roman had already spoken to zamar, she agreed to come back, on their way back that's when yildiz called, that took Roman to another dark place, he blamed zamar for not being there for his father on his last days, he drove like a maniac, when they got home it was around 10 pm, he cried so hard, shaking his father, he was very broken.
the funeral took place at the week hours, they buried him inside the seer's grave, under his bones, per customs, then the memorial service was held the following day, it was so sad, for yildiz, the kids and especially Roman.
after the funeral, it was hard to move on, they all avoided having food in the dining room, everything they did together as family wasn't possible anymore, Roman had to be coronated to be the king of his kingdom, he delayed the process because he felt as if he's betraying his father, it took him months, to finally become a king.
in those months, he never spoke to zamar, he told her one time that he'll never see the same way, so zamar was pleading with him to forgive her, she too felt bad for leaving when the king was that sick, the more zamar took the blame, the more he blamed her, and treated her very badly, the kids were also aware of his treatment towards their mother, he didn't abuse her physically, but emotionally and verbally, zamar had lost a lot of weight, she even closed her boutique, she stopped working, her new role was to take kids to school, yildiz said is taking a gap year.
its winter, in the evening, Roman slept with one of the girls he knows, the girl tried sneaking out but zamar was at the swimming pool, inside the cold pool, she was obviously freezing, but that's the only feeling that made sense to her at that moment
Roman almost got a heart attack, he didn't want zamar to see him cheating, he stood there waiting for her to say something, but she didn't, she looked the other way, the girl finally got out, then Roman stood by the pool
"what are you doing in a cold pool zamar, are you trying to kill yourself?" he asked clearly pissed
"will it matter to you? no, so why would I want to kill myself?" she responded
"then fuck the hell out of the pool, it damn cold" he hissed.
"please leave me alone, I'm minding my own business, do the same" she said that pointing at the gate
"you were not supposed to see that" he said
"and I saw, I kept quiet, I expect you to do the same" she said
"you wouldn't dare bring a man in my house" he said
"no never, because I won't be in your house when I have another man in my life" she said
"oh so that's the stunt you want to pull again, I wonder who's going to die this time around" he said
"my feelings, my love for you" She answered
"you still had those, mine died a long time ago" Roman said
"obviously, but mine will die soon, be a little more patient with me" she said getting out of the pool, Roman noticed she was thinner, she still had her hour glass shape, but she's lost a lot of weight, deep down he felt something he haven't felt in a long time.
zamar went inside the house, Roman went to the hut
"my king, it feels very weird calling you that" she said
"I know" he chuckled
"you're not pure, please stay outside" the seer said stopping him from coming in the hut
"what do you mean?" he asked
"I mean you cheated on your wife, you slept with impure soul, contaminated your blood with her bad blood, you didn't even use protection and that will come to haunt you" She said
"how?" he asked
"she'll claim to be pregnant, but you would be very happy since you don't have kids" the seer said
"I have ten kids, why would you say that to me?" he snapped
"ten kids whom you I'll treat their mother in front of them, let me tell you what you're teaching them, you're teaching your boys that it's totally fine to abuse women, that women are worthless, and your girls that it's okay to endure abuse, but your wife , their mother will fix that, she'll break all the ties she has with you, that's what you want right?" the seer said
"I am just so angry" he said but the seer cut him short
"are you still angry? do you still feel that anger? no, you're holding on to the memories of that day she was fed up with your attitude towards her, you're blaming her for your stupidity, you're blaming her for your faults, you're blaming her for Nnenas evil deeds, she's got nothing to do with any of those, she's just here because she loves you, but If that's so wrong, then worry less because she soon will leave, and for good this time, she will leave Nnenas kids behind, since hers are the results of what killed your faultless beloved wife" the seer said
"no, no, don't put it that way, I..., thays nit how it is, I'm, I was, okay I don't know how I feel but if she didn't leave that day, I would have been with my dad in his last breath" he said
"yes, but you chose to chase after her, she didn't ask you to come after her, it was your choice, see why I'm saying you're blaming her for your own choices, you ran after her, she left because she was fed up, had you not ran after her, you still wouldn't have been with your father on his last breath, but she wouldn't have come back, it was going to be simple, now you're suffering from your own choices" the seer said, Roman then realized she's right.
"how do I fix this?" he asked
"you admit that you're wrong, admit it within, sit down and think about it, when you finally see that you're wrong, then that's when you'll be able to fix it, only then, she'd be gone" she said
"so what's the point?" he asked
"I don't know, maybe for your kids, or for you, you'll know what the point when the time comes " she said
