yildiz made a promise to herself that she will not get back with Sam, and hasn't told him that he's back, she's just as sad about the divorce which Randy hasn't signed it's papers yet.
she was offered a job as the city secretary, a six months contract, which she grabbed the opportunity with both hands. her first few days were hard, very hard, she missed her son, her mom and her husband, she also had to adjust to how the town ran, it's everyday to day responsibilities, she had to take a small tour around the town to learn about it's community and their behavior, that took her a month, she wrote notes of everything she saw and heard, she even went to night clubs, parks, disco, parties, wherever there's crowd to get their opinions about what's needed and how the previous government did things, where to change or improve, she had everything jotted down.
now they are sitting in a meeting with the town's mayor, councilor and other governmental bodies to discuss the issues of the town
"the people don't know what they want, they rely on us to think for them, they are satisfied with whatever we provide, I don't see why we should worry" the mayor said, he's a very smart man, very handsome white guy, he's got blue big round eyes, a sharp nose, thin cheeks, tiny lips, he's tall and slim, he wears for his body, he has a very expensive taste of clothes, cologne and gadgets, he's also very arrogant, unfriendly and bossy, he's got a beautiful smile if he smiled a lot.
"well I guess we will give them what we think it's best for them then, meeting adjourned" the councilor said
"uhm, with all due respect mayor but I've made a research and I've..." he stopped yildiz from speaking
"meeting adjourned my lady, you will rise your concerns in the next meeting, since you are the secretary here, you will put yourself in the next agenda" he said standing up, yildiz was the only lady in the room, except for the one that serves them drinks
"sir I was a mayor in town, I know what I'm talking about" she said
"your town which is in Africa, your needs there are nit tue same as our here, and I said, next meeting" the mayor said, the other guys were just watching
"fine, I will make sure to speak at the next meeting" she said standing up.
"yildiz" the mayor called her "gentlemen we will talk again in the next meeting, I have her send you your monthly allocations, have a good day" he said shaking their hands "let's have dinner together, maybe I will listen to your findings" he said
"good, we will dinner" yildiz agreed
"fine, my place, I'll have my driver pick you up at 5" with that he left.
yildiz got ready for the dinner, she wore her black formal jumpsuit with one long lace sleeve, the other one is short, it's open at the back, and it's ankle high, she wore purple wedges, and had her purple sling bag. the driver picked her up exactly at five, it was her first time in the mayor's house, a very huge double storey house, with the most eye catching exterior, it's got two swimming pools, the gardens, very beautiful.
"welcome to my home miss" the mayor said extending his hand for a shake
"ms" yildiz rectified shaking him
"whatever, this way" he led the way to the dinning area
"nice house" yildiz said
"I know, it takes hard work to have such a home" he said
"oh" yildiz said, thinking of how huge tue palace is, this house compared to it, it's nothing
"do you have such in Africa?" he asked making yildiz laugh
"tell me, what do you picture Africa as?" yildiz asked
"a very small smelly continent" he said chuckling
"you are naive, for a mayor, you should know its not like that" she said laughing her nasty comment away
"tell me about you" the mayor asked
"there's nothing much to tell" she said
"I heard younwere the mayor in your town, you must have been a good one to land a job here" he said
"I was an excellent one, and if you must know, I didn't apply for this position, I applied for yours" she said then winked
"oh is that so? so you now see who's the best ?" he said
"not really, but I'm not planning on staying, my town needs me" she said
"as who?" he asked rolling his eyes
"as the queen" she said, the guy laughed
"the queen as in like married to a king?" he asked
"yes" yildiz said, he still laughed until he realized yildiz wasn't joking
"you are a queen?" he asked again
"yes" yildiz said
"wow, okay, so how do you find UK?" he asked
"it's okay, I love it here, I've stayed here before, but moved to the Balca area afterwards" yildiz said
"you used to stay in this area? when?" he asked
"ten years back" she said
"why did you move there?" he asked
"my ex and I broke up, back then I didn't have money to maintain this side's lifestyle so I moved" she said
"you really are something else, why were you here?" he asked
"long story short, I invested in a company here" she said
"which one?" he asked.
"Rio Rinto" she said, he coughed, yildiz gave him water, he drank then was okay "what's wrong?" yildiz asked
"you invested in Rio Tinto? thay company doesn't take investments lower that 5 million, how much did you invest with?" he asked
"more than that obviously but I can't tell you how much" she said
"you are rich" he said
"wealthy" she said, he kept looking at her, feeling like a herk for treating her like a trash
"wow, I don't know what to say, so tell me what your strategies are for this town" he said
"now you want to hear? let me tell you, I'm the first person in my community to make the changes I've made, I've put my town on a map, it's not just a rural area now, it's a township, I'm planning on taking it further than that, so if you want to be a candidate for presidency in few years time, listen to me now, it will benefit you, use the allocation money to benefit the community, use it wisely, interact with your people, listen to their cries, deliver the best service, you will go far" yildiz said, the mayor was listening hard
"Philip" he said
"pardon" yildiz asked
"my name is philip" he said smiling.
"Philip, nice to know you" yildiz said
"I underestimated you, but I see you are actually what I need by my side" Philip said
"maybe, so who do.you stay with in this house?" she asked
"alone" he said
"why?" she asked
"what do you mean why? who am I supposed to stay with?" he asked
"your wife and kids, no offense" yildiz
"non taken, we ate divorced, she's living her higher life, and I don't have kids" he said
"is there someone living higher than you? amazing, I want to meet that woman" yildiz said
"well, I'm actually the nicest person on earth" Philip said they both laughed
"I got to go Philip, thanks for the food, I'll take you out one day" she said
"why out? don't you want me to know where you stay?" he asked
"I don't mind, I don't know about you though" yildiz said
"I'd love to know where you stay" he said
"okay, I'll cook, tomorrow" she said
"you know how to cook?" he asked
"I'm black, which black woman doesn't?" she asked
"well in that case I can't wait to eat your food" he said smiling
"you'll love them, I'll make african food, you'll never starve again" she said standing up
"wow, can tomorrow come already" he stood up too, they walked to the door
"I had I good time, see you tomorrow" she said and left.
the following day morning yildiz wore her torn boyfriend Jean with timberland and a huge t-shirt. "what the hell?" the receptionist said seeing how yildiz dressed
"what?" she asked
"girl we don't do casual in this office" she said
"well I do" yildiz said
"you must be lucky then because since I've worked here, I was not allowed to wear jeans" she said
"sorry, maybe you'll get to wear them soon" she winked and left
"good morning" she said to the mayor, he looked at her from top to bottom
"we have a meeting remember?" he asked
"yes" yildiz said
"in 10 minutes" he said
"I know" yildiz
"and you're casual" he stated
"it's Friday" she said sitting on her chair
Philip smiled secretly at how rebellious yildiz is, he's never been tested like this.
during the meeting yildiz had looked from all the attendees, this time around they met with the important people of the government to discuss the changes the mayor will make in the town.
