Chapter 1 - Where Am I?

He was in a dark room, where he almost lost his perception. He tried very hard not to lose consciousness, but he was also struggling.

'Where am I?'

He didn't know how much time had passed, but he remembered that the man he hit was the last thing he saw as he wandered around town.

'My eyes are not closed. How dark is this place!'

He wasn't sure what was going on.

"Argh!"

The pain he felt when he tried to move his body caused him to moan and even his eyes to fill. Just trying to move his arm was so painful.

'I can't move.'

Huff, huff!

As he breathed in and out of fear, his eyes twitched over the pain in his chest, and a anguished cry screamed.

Rgh!

He couldn't breathe properly.

He didn't know why, but every breath he took caused a stinging sensation in his chest.

"I'm not in control of my body. What's going on?'

Because he spent his life alone, his will was considered strong. While his peers slept in their mother's warm arms, he worked to earn money before he could say summer or winter.

Although he was only nine years old, Alexander had a steely will.

'I'm scared. What am I doing here?'

He thought of tons of possibilities. The bad odds that he had been kidnapped by an organ mafia or sold by local gangs were the worst for him. Then he could say goodbye to this life that he worked so hard to protect.

But even these fears succumbed to time flowing in the dark.

'How much time has passed? I started to get hungry.'

There was no trace of its previous vitality.

He couldn't afford to waste it with meaningless moans. After many hours of leaning on to keep him conscious, he finally succumbed to his tiredness.

When he woke up again after an indefinite period of time, his mind was clearer. The breaths he took involuntarily no longer caused pain in his chest.

The darkness was terrible.

The unknown was terrible.

No matter how much he looked into the darkness, he seemed to look at it in the dark. A person could lose his mind if he was exposed enough to this situation.

'My name is Alexander.'

'My name is Alexander.'

He was trying to keep his mind busy with things other than darkness. He couldn't do anything in the situation he was in, and that made him think. Thoughts became ugly after a while, and the flames of despair raged within them.

It was best not to think about it.

---

He lost his family when he was six years old. Since then, he has been working to survive when he finds a job and begging when he can't. There was no job a nine-year-old could do. He was in such a desperate situation that he thought about dying many times.

Alexander woke up startled when he woke up from a nightmare in which his parents died.

When he woke up, he noticed that he was able to move some of his muscles. His fingers weren't as stiff as before, and now they could be moved a little bit.

In addition, his senses had regained their former sharpness.

Although he didn't know how he looked from the outside, he thought his face was wrinkled with joy. Now his limbs and senses were somewhat restored. This meant that he could move before long.

Was it possible that he would not rejoice?

There was a chance to get out of here.

He was not as desperate as before.

Gurrr~

Unfortunately, reality was brutal. As soon as the control over his body increased a little, he felt burning in his stomach. His lips were cracked by thirst. His body was so thirsty that he couldn't produce enough secretion to wet his lips.

His hunger and thirst were fatal.

It would not be wrong to say that it is now on its border.

'I have to eat.'

Trickle, trickle!

'What's this?'

As their senses slowly returned, their fears came to the surface. There was no trace of his previous joy. His fear of death was influencing his thoughts, so it took him a long time to understand what it was that he was hearing.

'The sound of water?'

The sound of water...

"Water!"

When he realized it was the sound of water, he slurred there, but his body had been in the same position for so long that he had been held. His muscles were weakened, and his already low physical strength had nothing left to intend.

'Gradually...'

After calming himself down, he touched the cold, hard floor with his fingers. Even this gesture caused him to instinctively clench his lips, but instead of giving up, he forced himself by clenching his teeth.

If he gave up here, he would have no chance to live.

He had to meet his need for water and food as soon as possible.

'Cold and hard ground plus the smell of dampness. When I don't get any light, I'm probably somewhere underground."

Trickle!

As he dragged himself towards the sound of water, his desire to live grew stronger. When his tiny body began to burn again with the fire of willpower that was disappearing, he managed to drag herself despite the cramps in his body.

Although the place where the sound of the water came from was one meter away from him, he could only hear it hours and perhaps days later. It may have seemed a meter away, but it took minutes to get there dragged – especially in such an exhausted state.

When he finally got to the bottom of the sound of water, he felt that the stone floor was wet compared to other places. There was neither a fountain nor a gutter in the middle.

Trickle!

Trickle!

Trickle!

Trickle!

A few drops of water fell on his head before he could tell exactly where the sound of water was coming from. Coarse water droplets soaked his neck and then slipped from his neck and fell to the floor.

Alexander could only turn his head during this time.

Argh!

Drops of water would dripping from a stalactite in the ceiling to the ground, then disappear through the cracks between the stone floor.

Alexander rubbed his tongue into the drop of water that had soaked the ground, then turned on his back and turned his head dangling his face. Although he couldn't see anything, he positioned his mouth exactly there because he knew where the water would fall.

Seconds had passed since he opened his mouth, when a large drop of water soaked his lips. Alexander felt an unbearable vitality, as plants that had been dehydrated for a long time finally received water. It could have been the most delicious thing he had ever tasted in his life.

But his thirst was not the kind to pass with a drop.

He stretched out his tongue and desperately waited for the other drop to fall.

The second drop fell hard into his throat half a minute later.

Then the third...

And the fourth.

Alexander stood where he was for a long time and tried to regain his energy. The water he drank energized his body on the one hand and soothed his hunger on the other.

After a while, he was able to crawl around.

Normally it would be a development he wouldn't care about, but right now he was so precious that he wanted to cry. Unfortunately, he didn't have much water to spare, so he held back tears and started moving where he was.

'Hm...'

He paused and looked at the insects moving right in front of him. Insects that could survive even in damp environments were clearly the sole rulers of the world. Alexander swallowed as he stared at the hundred-legged sycamore that traveled a few inches from his fingers.

He might have had to eat even though it looked very disgusting.

The evil of the situation terrified him.

'I'm scared.'

He didn't know what was going to happen. And for what purpose the people who kidnapped him kidnapped him. Were they after his organs? Or had he fallen into the hands of a sadist who just liked to inflict pain? What would they kidnap a child for at the beginning of the XXII century?

'If they put me in a shitty room like this and put me in such a shitty situation, it's not a good omen.'

What should he have done and escaped from here.
