A car drove on the main route around the inner area while avoiding any smaller roads that would be crowded.
The zombies which remained and had been outside of the houses or had been inside one of the homes that had the doors left open had picked up on the noise.
One zombie was knelt over as it had just recently killed someone and was digging its hands into the dead body.
It pulled out the internal organs and bit into them until it picked up on the noise nearby.
It then climbed it and went towards the source of the sound.
Another zombie was wandering slowly then picked up its pace as it turned towards the source of the sound.
A small group of people were cowering in their homes until they heard the noise outside then saw the strange sight.
They were frightened as they spotted the zombies and closed the curtains as they kept themselves hidden.
Similar situations happened all around as the zombies were attracted by the music that came from the car.
When a zombie approach from the side or front, the car slowly avoided them and continued on its path which caused the zombies to be closer to the front of the group of zombies.
At the gate, Alice got a text and alerted everyone about what to expect. "Everyone on alert! A new wave is being brought this way!"
Everyone got into position as they had done so before once they had been instructed.
It was difficult to find a group that had been so organised so early on in the apocalypse but having each of them take on certain easier roles helped to increase their survival and cooperation.
The sound of music started to be heard from not too far away as it started to become slightly clearer and louder.
Alice's eyes went wide as she realised what was happening. 'So this is what he meant.. crazy!'
She knew that Brick had some crazy ideas and that they had worked so far but she couldn't help but curse him for making things more difficult than what they could have been.
Although Brick's methods allowed the zombies to be cleared quicker, it required a lot of effort and it was more dangerous to handle the larger groups of zombies.
If Brick was not there to assist then Alice did not have the confidence to be able to handle it and to ensure the safety of the others.
A car had sped up as it turned a corner then once it reached the gate, it had stopped playing the music which had allowed others to here the sounds of the zombies off in the distance.
While some were commenting on the car that approached and the sounds of the zombies in the distance, Cherie spotted Brick inside the car as it made a quick turn around another corner and parked a little out of sight. "It is him! He is back!"
"Hey.. those sounds.."
"Not again.."
"We were finally able to rest up a little.."
Tristan paled as he realised another hellish experience was about to happen. 'He.. hah..'
The car had parked out of the way so the zombies had lost sight of it and would be unable to notice it so soon.
By the time that the zombies had reached hear the gate, their interest would have been taken away from their previous target so the car was safe from being damaged.
Brick and Homer jumped out of the car then ran towards the wall and jumped over while assisting each other in climbing over more efficiently and quickly.
Once their feet hit the ground on the other side, they ran around towards the other side of the gate and joined the others.
By then the zombies had already come into view and the battle had begun.
Brick shouted. "Everyone ready your weapons and do the same as before! Homer you can do as you see fit, just do not got bitten or scratched."
Even if Homer had a little experience, there was still a danger of him bringing trouble to the group since he was still new to the tactics Brick was using and he was unfamiliar with the group.
The battle had begun and the number of zombies that had died kept increasing but so did the pile of them at the gate.
Luckily it did not pose a large problem for the zombies being able to reach those on the other side, the only problem was that the growing amount of corpses would later cause an obstruction to the car that needed to pass through.
Brick was immersed in swinging the axe around and stabbing with the knife as ye switched between using cuts and stabs to kill the zombies that had been pushed against the gate by those behind them. 'This is going to be a pain to clean up… dangerous too if there are any left alive in the pile.'
A pile of dead zombies always ran various risks so most did not approach closely unless it was required.
It was too easy to get caught off guard while thinking everything within was dead.
All it took was one living zombie to be able to reach out from within to infect someone or to pull them under.
The blood and guts made the surroundings extra slippery so most would slip once they were grabbed then they would lose most of their resistance to avoid being pulled closer for the same reason.
The same was happening on the other side of the gate as those with less experience were having to pay more attention to how they were standing and stepping.
Brick took note of the dangers and shouted. "Do not step in too close from now on. Maintain a certain distance! Try to avoid stepping on the bloodied ground and keep your feet firmly and stably on the hard ground!"
It was easy to lose focus and miss something out of their range of sight, a single hand could poke out from a lower angle then pull at one of their legs which could pull them closer to the gate.
The problem was not that large the first battle but once the zombie pile on the other side had grown and there were more zombies, it had become something to be more careful about.
As it had been expected, one person had slipped and fell against the gate when they were trying to swing their weapon towards the zombie.
Their weapon missed and they were within reach of the zombie which had grabbed onto them.
It all happened within a single moment and they were bitten, they let out a scream then they felt something tug on their clothing from behind.
They were yanked back suddenly and the flesh had been ripped from their arm, there were far less zombies around so Brick had been able to notice what had happened.
He moved quickly and pulled the person away then ordered. "Quick! We need to act quickly!"
Brick started tying something around the upper part of the arm after they were dragged away, he searched in his bag for a clean and unused weapon. "Is there an empty house nearby? Help me carry him over quickly! The more time we waste, the more his life will be in danger!
The zombies have been reduced in number and should no longer pose a threat so we can leave them as they are for now. Only attack them carefully if you are confident you will not make a mistake."
