Chapter 72 - CH 4: Alistair VS Dr Crowler P2

From the portal above, a figure started to descend. Clad in black armor, five pairs of jet black wings, with long white hair, a blood red demonic halo on his head, and carrying a shield and a sword emitting evil auras, the man took away everybody's breath with his appearance. Even more so with his ATK points.

"4,000?!" Dr Crowler gasped in horror, as everybody looked with shock and amazement. They did expect something powerful when three monsters were used as fusion materials, but they didn't expect a monster with 4,000 ATK points to suddenly pop out.

"4,000?! How is that possible?!"

"How can a newbie like that have that kind of a monster?!"

"It's even stronger than Dr Crowler's legendary Ancient Gear Golem!"

"Whoa, check out that monster!" Alexis and Zane were no exceptions :"4,000 ATK points! That's as powerful as your Cyber End Dragon, Zane!" Surprisingly, Zane smirked :"I guess Duel Academy is going to be a lot more lively from now on. And fun."

While everybody was shocked by the power of the monster, Alistair was shocked for different reasons. He looked at his ace with amazement. The pleasure and satisfaction of bringing his boss monster to life, and looking at him standing in front of him, guarding him, was amazing.

The First Darklord wasn't big or enormous like the Ancient Gear Golem. He was around Alistair's height, just a few inches taller. But standing on the field, cold eyes gazing at the robotic monster, made it look like the Ancient Gear Golem was the tiny one here.

The noiret smiled excitedly like a child. It was the dream of every Yu-Gi-Oh player to duel like this. To see their monsters come to life. So how could he not be excited? He was barely holding himself back from jumping up and down. But surprisingly, while everybody was too shocked to notice, he saw The First Darklord look back at him. And with a small smirk, nod, before returning to his emotionless state.

'... Za fuck...?' Alistair grew even more shocked than the spectators. He hadn't expected his monster to just do that. But realization hit him :'Oh, right, some monsters are alive! Their spirits live inside of their cards! They're called duel spirits if I remember correctly. So does that mean The First Darklord has a duel spirit?! Or maybe... all of my cards do...?'

Thinking about it, he grew even more excited. Who didn't want their monsters, their partners, to be alive? If it was true, dueling was going to be a lot more fun than what he expected from now on. Smirking, he looked at Dr Crowler :"So, Dr Crowler, you were saying?"

Dr Crowler was awakened from his shock, but his look of horror didn't change :'W-what is that monster?! 4,000 ATK points?! How am I even supposed to deal with that?! How can a twerp like him even have that kind of a card?!' But to save face, he tried to act calm as he scoffed :"So what if he has some ATK points?! I can still get rid of it easily when it's my turn again!"

"That's the problem, Dr Crowler." The noiret let out a sinister chuckle :"There's no next turn in this duel. You know why? Because there's still more to come! That's right, I'm not done yet!"

"You're not?!?!" Dr Crowler paled, while Alistair's smirk widened even more at the gasps that echoed throughout the place :"Nope, not by a long shot. You see, one of the cards that were used as fusion materials was Dramaturge of Despia! Which when used to fusion summon, its effect activates, and it can be special summoned to my field! So say hello to another boss monster!"

[Dramaturge of Despia: Fairy/ Effect/ Dark/ Lv 8/ 3,000 ATK/ 1,500 Def

Effect(s): If a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Monster is Special Summoned (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 Effect Monster on the field; negate its effects until the end of this turn. If this card in your hand or field is used as Fusion Material, and sent to the GY or banished: You can Special Summon this card. You can only use each effect of "Dramaturge of Despia" once per turn.]

On the field, red flames soared through the sky as two white wings spread from the fire pillar. As the being inside flamed its wings, the fire disappeared, revealing a man in white robes with large white wings sporting pink tips and holding a scepter larger than himself.

"3,000 ATK?!" Dr Crowler went even paler, and the place grew even noisier. They couldn't believe what they were seeing. Just The First Darklord was enough to win this duel, but he managed to bring out another monster with such a high ATK.

They thought Dr Crowler's combos were amazing, managing to bring out a strong monster like the Ancient Gear Golem in one turn despite needing two tributes. But this pretty boy that they had thought only had looks managed to make Dr Crowler's tactics pale in comparison.

"Holy crap, are you guys seeing what I'm seeing?!" Syrus rubbed his eyes, not believing in what he was seeing. He couldn't be blamed, no one else did either. Beside him, Jaden nodded in amazement :"Yeah, I do, Sy..."

"It seems like Ashblossom doesn't have just empty knowledge. His tactics are brilliant!" Unlike them, who were just enjoying the duel, Bastion was analyzing every move and combo carefully. Thus, he was even more amazed than others :"He doesn't just use each card, he takes advantage of everything they have! He did it with Despian Tragedy before, and now did the same with Dramaturge of Despia! With these moves, his victory is assured."

"It seems he's right." Zane in another place hummed :"There won't be a next turn to this duel." It was rare for him to be impressed, but he was truly shocked today. But when he heard the next words, he, along with everybody else, were even more flabbergasted :"But I'm not done yet!"

Enjoying everybody's shock, and the faces that Dr Crowler made, looking like he was about to cry, Alistair smiled sadistically :"Next, I use The First Darklord's effect! By paying 1,000 LP, I can special summon a Darklord monster from my hand or graveyard!

And I choose to special summon the monster I sent to the graveyard using Foolish Burial, the move you called stupid! Come on out, Darklord Superbia! And guess what. When Darklord Superbia is special summoned from the graveyard, I can target one Fairy-type monster in my graveyard, and special summon too! So come on out, Darklord Ixchel!"

[Darklord Superbia: Fairy/ Effect/ Dark/ Lv 8/ 2,900 ATK/ 2,400 Def

Effect(s): When this card is Special Summoned from the Graveyard: You can target 1 Fairy-Type monster in your Graveyard, except "Darklord Superbia"; Special Summon that target.

Two more monsters appeared, in different forms and powers, but both with the same demonic wings. At this point, even the arrogant Dr Crowler had lost hope :'Oh... I'm done for...' After all, standing in front of monsters with 4,000 ATK, 3,000 ATK, 2,900 ATK and 2,500 ATK at the same time, who would have hope?

But was Alistair, someone from the era of bullshit-ary, someone who would be satisfied with just that. He had learned it a long time ago to go all out while you still can, or you won't be able to do jack shit with all the negates that will come out. So from the three cards that he still had in his hand, he raised one :"Sorry, but I'm not done yet."

The place went dead silent. He had basically won the duel, so what was he doing at this point? Alistair didn't care about them though, he just wanted to flex as hard as he could. Holding the card he had picked, one end of his duel disk suddenly came out, and he put the card there :"Next I play my field spell, Despia, Theater of the Branded!"

[Despia, Theater of the Branded: Field Spell

Effect(s): During your Main Phase: You can Fusion Summon 1 Level 8 or higher Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or field as material. You can only use each effect of "Despia, Theater of the Branded" once per turn.]

Large pillar-like spikes came out of the ground instantly, trapping the two and all their monsters inside, as an enormous floating castle appeared above them. Demonic thunder surged above the dark castle, making it look even more sinister. But to Alistair, it looked nothing but gorgeous.

"Next, I'll activate its effect! When Despia is on the field, on my main phase, I can fusion summon a Lv 8 or higher monster using cards in my hand or field! So by fusing Dramaturge of Despia and Darklord Superbia, I can bring out another beast and one of my personal favorites! So say hello to Masquerade the Blazing Dragon!"

You can only use this effect of "Masquerade the Blazing Dragon" once per turn.]

As Dramaturge and Darklord Superbia fused into one, scorching fire rose from the ground, and a dragon soared into the sky. His red hair moved with the wind, and he spread his wings proudly once he descended to stand beside Alistair's other monsters.

"But you see, I still have more!" Alistair, being a bitch, laughed loudly :"I activate my spell, Branded in Red! Using it, I can bring back one Despia monster back to my hand, then fusion summon another Lv 8 or higher monster by banishing the needed materials from my hand or field!"

[Branded in Red: Quick-Play Spell

Effect(s): Target 1 "Despia" monster or "Fallen of Albaz" in your GY; add it to your hand, then you can apply the following effect.

●Fusion Summon 1 Level 8 or higher Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by banishing Fusion Materials mentioned on it from your hand or field, but it cannot attack directly this turn.

You can only activate 1 "Branded in Red" per turn.]

"Another one...?" Poor Dr Crowler looked traumatized, but for Alistair, he deserved it for making fun of his cards :"That's right! So by bringing back Dramaturge of Despia, then banishing both it and my Ad Libitum of Despia, I fusion summon true horror! Come on out, Despian Quaeritis!"

[Ad Libitum of Despia: Fairy/ Effect/ Dark/ Lv 8/ 1,500 ATK/ 2,000 Def

You can only use each effect of "Ad Libitum of Despia" once per turn.
