Chapter 26 - Death

Boom!

A loud explosion took place on the street, causing dust and smoke to rise up along with a heat wave.

"Ahh!"

The weaker crowd ran away with fright while the stronger ones hid in some distance, hoping to witness what had actually happened.

Who dared to be so bold in this place? Didn't they know that security was always tight in an airport?

Soon, rapid footsteps were heard as the members of the police force and the guilds rushed out from the airport furiously.

"Who dares to make trouble here?" An officer carrying a baton in his hand shouted.

In response, he was greeted by an eerie chuckle emerging from behind.

"Hehe, we do."

"Who?" Before he could turn his head, he felt a sharp pain in his stomach.

"Urgh! How?"

He coughed out a mouthful of blood, not believing that he had been sneak attacked. How can a B-ranked warrior like himself fail to detect the opponent's breath?

How strong was the enemy?

When he looked below, he saw a chainsaw piercing his body. Only then he realized who the enemy was. The same went for his friends and the guild members.

"You are…"

However, they couldn't reveal him as he attacked them straight away.

Puchi!

Fresh blood spilled on the ground as the officer's body was cut in half vertically. Next, he crossed his arms or the bloody chainsaws which had been formed from his superpower.

Swish!

An X-shaped energy beam shot out from him, cutting them in the blink of an eye as well.

"Ahh! Help us."

Hearing their cries, more guards darted out from the airport. Nonetheless, they all met with mishaps as a muscular hunk appeared ahead of them and squashed them like bugs.

With his tall ten feet and green body, he crushed them one after another, finally forcing the A-ranked officer to come out.

"Desmond, it's you. Are the underground forces behind this?" The officer asked coldly, playing with his long goatee.

"Yeah. So, you better stay away from us. If not, we have to finish you too." Desmond declared arrogantly.

"You…" The officer was enraged.

"Haha, want to do something?" The chainsaw man glanced in his direction and scoffed.

"Kenneth." The officer uttered, trembling a bit.

He realized there was no point in interfering in their matter. Furthermore, he perceived a man in a robotic suit floating a hundred meters above the smoke using a jetpack.

"Three A-ranked warriors. What do they want here?" He frowned.

Anyways, he kept his cool and said, "You guys have already created a big commotion. I believe the military will be sending their top-notch warriors shortly."

"Humph! We understand. That's why we are prepared. It will finish in a couple of minutes." Desmond answered and rushed towards the smoke, following Kenneth.

"Bastards." The officer cursed and decided to watch the events unfold.

When everything settled down, he was shocked when he noticed another A-ranked warrior. It was a female in tattered clothes with burnt wounds all over her body.

"Amelia." Indeed, it was her.

She currently had vines as thick as a tree trunk, forming a barrier over her and protecting the ones behind her. Thus, her little sister and Bela were safe.

Nevertheless, she had to bear a heavy burden. Taking the attack of an A-ranked warrior head-on was not an easy thing to do. Especially when the opponent had been well prepared.

The face of the barrier had been scorched to oblivion despite using half of her mana. Now, with her remaining mana, she had to face the three A-ranked warriors. The situation was looking dire.

"Sis!"

"Gang Leader!"

Ava and Bela shouted with despair, seeing her condition. They rushed to her and supported her from both sides.

"Run!"

Amelia shouted, wiping the blood from her mouth,

"Bela! Take her away. I order you as the Gang Leader." She pushed them back and slowly took a step forward.

"No!" How could Ava allow it?

"Yes." Contrary to Ava, Bela nodded without any hesitations. She followed her orders, knowing the bigger picture.

Therefore, she dragged Ava and dashed off in an opposite direction. She didn't act like their aunts, indicating that it was her fake identity.

"How can you be heartless?" Ava shed tears.

"Haha! Do you think that anyone of you can escape? It's all over. Hand over your dungeons. If not, I have to bury you all." The robotic man fired rockets at Bela from his hands.

"How dare you?" Discerning this, she bellowed in anger.

She pointed towards the rockets while multiple roses manifested behind her.

Whoosh!

They blossomed at the same time, shooting beams of energy, and destroying those rockets in mid-air.

Bang!Bang!Bang!

"Levi, your weapons are trash. Watch how I chop them off with my hands." Kenneth eventually arrived on the scene.

"Don't!!" Amelia launched her vines through the ground and caught his legs, immobilizing him.

"It won't work." He chopped them off quickly. However, he underestimated her tenaciousness.

A large number of thin sharp spikes shot off from the vines and grazed past his skin, creating minor injuries, in spite of deflecting most of them with his chainsaws.

"Haha, Kenneth, you talk big for being useless yourself. Observe how I deal with her." Desmond charged like a rhino and slammed upon her, disregarding the barrier she summoned to resist his assault.

Bam!

The barrier broke apart and his fist landed on her stomach, sending her flying like a cannonball.

"Kenneth! Levi! Finish her now. We don't have much time. Leave those flies to my goons." Declaring loudly, he jumped high enough, generating shockwaves and caving the ground by a few meters.

Whoosh!

He reached the sky and dropped down with his elbow first, expecting to crush her into pieces.

Not wanting to lag behind, Levi and Kenneth too attacked together, ganging upon Amelia.

Meanwhile, Bela was escaping with Ava rapidly, not aware of the impending doom.

"We are there. Just a few more minutes." She muttered, gritting her teeth.

But abruptly, Ava noticed some movements nearby.

"Aunt, there are some strange men on top of the houses." Ava alerted her quaveringly.

"What?" When Bela looked there, she was shocked when she noticed the red wolf-like claws in their hands.

"The Savage Wolf Gang!!"

Dressed in completely black clothes, they leaped from there and struck her from all directions.

"Stay behind me!"

Multiple shadows were released from her body, forming her afterimages which battled head-on against the enemies.

Clang!Clang!

Her daggers collided with their claws and she kept getting pushed back. Controlling six afterimages was too much for her. Her brain couldn't coordinate everyone's movement.

Pop! Pop!

It didn't take long before they burst into smoke, taking heavy damage. Afterward, they arrived a few meters in front of her in a jiffy.

"No!!!" Bela shrieked, throwing all the daggers she had hidden in her sleeves.

Yet, they didn't even bother dodging. They flicked the ones they could and shifted their body a little, taking the daggers in their unimportant body parts, limiting their injuries.

"Fuck off!"

They cursed, piercing their claws everywhere on her body mercilessly.

Puchi!Puchi!

"Leave." This was the last word that came out of her mouth.

"Aunt!" Feeling the motionless body, falling on her hands, Ava was heartbroken. She couldn't process what was happening. Her mind shook as she stood there with her mouth wide open along with tears dripping down.

"What do we do with her?" One of the goons questioned, licking the blood on his hand.

"Haha, why don't we have some fun with her?" The other suggested.

"Shut up! We are ordered to bring her back. Tie her up now."

When they were about to touch her, a heavy pressure befell them.

"You guys should go. Bullying a little girl who has yet to awaken openly in the streets is not my thing." A calm irrefutable voice sounded in the air, alarming them at once.

When they glanced in that direction, they saw the officer with the goatee approaching them.

"Why are you here?" They warily asked.

"I am a police officer for a reason. I do what I think is right." The officer stated, pointing his baton at them threateningly.

"Our Gang Leader should have warned you." One of the goons wasn't afraid since they had an A-ranked warrior supporting them.

"Don't remind me of that!" Remembering the humiliation, the officer flared up.

"Get your ass over here!"

He made a grabbing motion in the air, and the goons were hauled to him by force.

"It seems like I need to teach you all a lesson." Without waiting for their response, he smacked them on their buttocks one by one, showcasing who was the boss here.

"Ahh!"

"We are sorry!!"

"We will leave."

They started begging after a couple of minutes. But he didn't allow it. Recalling how his subordinates were killed, he used even more force, breaking all their bones.

"It's better to interrogate them." He stopped and finally put his attention on the little girl who had blood and tears all over.

"Hiaz! This is the life of us warriors. Nobody knows when we will fall. Little girl, hold yourself together." He sighed sorrowfully.
