Mi Rae stood in front of the door and closed her eyes. She knew she had to enter, but she couldn't. Jin Ho loved her so much but she was going to break up with him. This pained her heart and yet she saw it as an act she couldn't avoid. Gathering the needed courage, she opened the door of the restaurant and stepped inside.
The restaurant was empty and had a lot of decorations around. She wondered what all of that meant but didn't pay much attention to it. Seeing Jin Ho upstairs, she joined him at his table.
Unlike the Jin Ho who was always in casual wear, this time round, Jin Ho was wearing a tuxedo.
"Mi Rae, you are here", Jin Ho said with a smiley face. He was extremely happy on this day. He stood up from his seat and helped Mi Rae with hers. After she had sat down, Mi Rae looked around the restaurant and asked Jin Ho: "Oppa, what is it? Why did you call me here?"
In reply, Jin Ho said, "I know that you aren't so happy because I called you here suddenly. But the thing is…"
Mi Rae who wasn't feeling comfortable from the start told Jin Ho: "Oppa, there is something I have to tell you."
"Me too. But you go first", Jin Ho said.
"No, you go first", Mi Rae said. But Jin Ho insisted saying: "It's okay, you go first."
"Oppa, just say what you have to say", Mi Rae mentioned. She seemed a little colder than previously.
Jin Ho, despite being nervous, went ahead to say: "Alright then."
All of a sudden he stood up from his seat and drew closer to Mi Rae. He bent down in front of her and whipped a small reddish box out of his pocket.
Mi Rae stared at him in shock. He opened it and said: "Mi Rae, I have thought things over for a long time and concluded that without you my life is incomplete. I want us to share our lives together till the end of time."
"Oppa", Mi Rae said softly.
Jin Ho went ahead to ask the question which had made him nervous all along. "Mi Rae, will you… will you marry me?"
Mi Rae started crying and in the background, V told the waiters: "Seems like she's touched. I think it is time."
She was marveled and yet sad since she was here to end things with Jin Ho and not accept a promise ring. Hence, she said: "Oppa, thanks… but…"
Before she could finish speaking, upon hearing her say thanks, V signaled the waiters and all of a sudden, little colored papers were shot from the sky and they all landed on Mi Rae.
She got bewildered as she didn't know what had been planned for her. Just then, the sound of classical music filled the room and a banner with the inscription "Congratulations" dropped from the sky and hung above them.
Extremely astonished, Mi Rae asked: "Oppa, what's going on?"
Jin Ho smiled and said: "Mi Rae, thanks for accepting me."
"Accepting"? Mi Rae asked back. Her eyes widened with shock and she replied: "I never said yes."
"What?" Jin Ho asked, looking dumbfounded.
The musicians however were engaged in their classical music. They were engrossed so much that they couldn't tell the current atmosphere.
Due to how noisy they were sounding, Mi Rae shouted at Jin Ho, saying: "Oppa, tell them to stop!"
"Why? Don't you like the sound of the music?" Jin Ho asked, as he had not yet grasped the whole situation himself.
Feeling irritated, Mi Rae burst out saying: "I was going to tell you that let's break up."
"What? Why? Did I do something wrong?" Jin Ho fumbled in his speech.
"No, it's just that… I…" Mi Rae couldn't continue. She took a deep breath.
Jin Ho worriedly said: "Tell me the reason."
After sighing heavily, Mi Rae finally unleashed the anger in her. They were like a pile of furious bulls who had been left out of their cage. She said: "Oppa, you make me feel uncomfortable. Even if I accept you, can I show you to my parents? If they ask about your job, what will I tell them? That my boyfriend is a common night courier?"
"Common night courier?" Jin Ho asked with a surprised face. Never had he imagined Mi Rae making such an utterance from her mouth.
"Yes oppa. All my friends laugh at me for dating you. And I can no longer take it again. I think it's best if we break up", Mi Rae added.
"Do you really mean it?" Jin Ho asked. His voice had lost its previous joy and all the waiters and musicians stared at the scene in disbelief.
"Yes oppa. I already made up my mind", Mi Rae stated.
All along, Jin Ho was still kneeling on the ground. But finally, he stood up and asked: "Perhaps, is there someone else in your life?"
"Yes. I like Hyung Bin. He's a colleague at work", Mi Rae shamelessly replied. Now, she didn't seem to feel guilty about the break up.
Jin Ho went ahead to ask her: "Is he rich, handsome and with a nice family?"
"Yes oppa", she replied. Jin Ho bent his head down in disappointment and Mi Rae tried to justify herself by saying: "Why? Can't I also live a Cinderella fairytale? Can't I be happy?"
Jin Ho raised his head up and asked: "Weren't you ever happy being with me?"
Mi Rae smirked and afterwards said: "Do you really want to know how I felt? Whenever we went on dates, I felt guilty. It was like I was ripping you off the meager income you made every month. And when you bought me gifts, I always wondered if you really bought it with your money."
Jin Ho couldn't believe it. He thought she was a nice person but it seemed like he was mistaken all along.
"Do you think that I stole the gifts?" Jin Ho asked.
"I don't know and I can't tell. But I don't want to be in a relationship of roses and thorns anymore", Mi Rae replied. Not wanting to spend anymore time with her boyfriend, Mo Rae said: "Oppa, goodbye!" She then took her bag and stood up to leave.
However, before she could take a step further, Jin Ho told her: "Wait a minute. Does this mean that you are breaking up with me because of my low income?" He asked in confirmation.
And she replied, saying: "No oppa, it's because you cannot make it. And I don't think you will ever make it. Just let me be."
Jin Ho was heartbroken and sat idle by himself. Yet still, he got himself back on his feet and chased after Mi Rae. Upon getting closer, he grabbed her arm and turned her around. After which he said: "Mi Rae, I think you will be late for work even if you grab a cab."
"So what?" she asked spitefully. "V?" Jin Ho called out.
"Yes bro?" he responded and quickly descended the staircase.
"Please escort her back to work safely with my private jet", Jin Ho ordered.
"Yes sir", V replied.
"What? Private jet? What are you talking about?" Mi Rae asked but no one gave her a reply.
Just then, his female secretary appeared with Jin Ho's phone and said: "Sir, you have a call. It's Congressman Heo."
"Congressman Heo?" Mi Rae asked in shock. Yet again, she received no reply.
Jin Ho asked his secretary: "What does he want?"
"He wants to meet you personally", the secretary replied.
Jin Ho then told her: "Alright. Check my schedule and find a spot for him."
"Yes sir", she replied and walked away.
Confused, shocked and extremely dumbfounded, Mi Rae asked herself, "What's happening?"
She then asked Jin Ho: "Oppa, what's going on?"
Jin Ho looked at her and said: "Ah, right. I am actually not a night courier. Sorry to have made the late introduction. Actually, I am Joon Jin Ho, the CEO of Zerogate Factory."
Mi Rae was speechless. She couldn't move and stood at one spot with a lot of confusion written over her face.
Jin Ho then walked out of the restaurant. V chased him and asked: "Bro, where are you going to?"
But he wasn't the only one to chase after Jin Ho. Running at great speed, Mi Rae chased after Jin Ho whilst saying shamelessly: "Wait a minute. Jin Ho oppa, I'm sorry. I didn't mean what I said earlier. I was just upset. Oppa! Oppa! I didn't mean it. Oppa, I'm sorry. I'm really sorry!"
Jin Ho stopped his steps and asked V: "V, I thought I had asked you to escort her."
V then signaled the guards nearby and they rushed to stop Mi Rae. "Let's go", they told the young lady but she wasn't willing to leave.
Neglecting her, Jin Ho got into his SUV and the driver who could see his master's cloudy eyes, asked him: "Sir, are you alright?"
But Jin Ho replied: "Let's go." The driver stepped on the accelerator and got the car onto the road. However, after they had driven for a few kilometers, Jin Ho told the driver: "Pull over."
"Why?" the driver asked. But Jin Ho said: "Just do as I say."
"Yes sir", the driver replied and parked the car.
Jin Ho then told the driver: "Take the lead, I need to get some fresh air."
"But sir…" the driver got worried.
"Don't worry, I will be fine", Jin Ho said with a smile and signaled the driver to leave.
But the truth was that Jin Ho wasn't fine. And this was evident as he walked along the streets for hours.
