Chapter 8 - Match Tryout

The arrangements for the tryouts was concluded within 30 mins. Fortunately John and Ray were placed on the same team, Team F. The other people in their team were, a built guy, named Kelvin, he was also the captain of the team, because of his team. Then the four defenders, peter, James, Matthew ,and Lucas.

John and Ray were in charge of the midfield, together with Kelvin, and another kid named Steve.

For the forward was a set of twins, David and Daniel. Their goalkeeper was named Anthony, a tall dude. Their team formation was basically a 4-4-2. The captains were in charge of picking their opponents in the draw. Kelvin actually picked team B. So they were basically the second match.

Ray, who was feeling rather nervous, was now feeling excited. John was also expectant. The excitement was everywhere, not only in team F. Every team kept on going on with their strategy. Since everyone was not really familiar with their teammates, they needed sometime that would suite everyone.

" Team A and Team E" The referee for the match called out, and the next moment, two lines of people could be seen making their way to the field, every other person had to seat in the stands except they were called.

The teams did not waste time with anthems, not like they had one anyway. They quickly got into position. You could see their determination from their face. They were all determined to make the teams, but unfortunately not everyone were going to make the team. It was literally " The survival of the fittest ".

" PHEW", The referee blew the whistle after the teams were in position.

Team A started with an immediate attack, they had already reached their opponent's post with less than 15 touches.

'BOOM'. The striker for team A made an attempt on goal. The shot was a close call for team E. Although team a did not manage to secure a goal, they had successfully made team E tense, they had applied pressure to team E, even the most sturdy mountain would crack if the pressure was more than it could bear.

After their first attempt, team A still managed to secure their first goal fifteen minutes into the first half after a defender from team E make a mistake due to pressure. It could be said that the early shot was one of the deciding factor for the game. The players in team E were not processional footballers, so they were not able to handle the pressure.

Thirty minutes into the game, cracks began to surface in Team E's game play, which Team A optimized on to score their second goal.

' phew '. The referees whistle could be heard signalling the end of the first half. And so it was that for the first half, Team A 2 : 0 Team E.

Everyone were impressed with team A. Even the coach could be seen nodding his head. Although not everyone from team would be selected, everyone had already concluded that Danny, the boy the made the early shot, and the one that later scored the latter goal would eventually be selected. Two nil for the first half.
