Instead of leaving the hospital to pick Neon up from school, Belle was held up because of her careless remark. She had to quickly think of an excuse for Eli before things go out of control.
She was just about to tell him that she remembered some of the incidents in the past when her phone started ringing. Seeing Jojie's name, Belle felt a little relieved. She answered the call immediately while mentally hoping that Eli would forget their conversation.
On the side, Eli was wondering why his mother called Belle.
"Hello, Auntie Jo. How may I help you today?" Belle asked while taking glances at Eli.
"You can talk to her as we walk," Eli mouthed in silence and Belle did as he said.
Taking her bag with her, she walked out of Eli's office with him following close to her. They informed the other physicians about his sudden break and they didn't really have any issues with it, so they were allowed to go without getting questioned.
