A few seconds later, Zhu Longwei got to his feet and extended his hand. "I've changed my mind. Follow me!"
Tan Xiuying widened her eyes and arched her brow, ignoring his extended hand. "Master Zhu, where do you want to go?"
"I'd like to take you to the inn where I'm staying now," he replied, his tone more relaxed now.
"To…? Oh my, no, I can't possibly go with you," she exclaimed. "That sounds like a fate worse than just talking to you. I'd rather stay here."
"We'll have a more private conversation there. It's not safe to discuss certain matters here in the open."
Tan Xiuying hesitated for a moment, her thoughts racing. She couldn't help but wonder if Zhu Longwei had ulterior motives or if he simply wanted to have a private talk. She could not shake the feeling of unease.
"It's just not proper, Master Zhu. I'm sure you understand. We wouldn't want to give anyone the wrong impression."
