Chapter 99 - Self Punishment

The clashing of wood could be heard all throughout the practice fields.

Early autumn had cool nights but the days were still warm if the sun was out. As it was, the sun was still high despite it being morning and the men practicing with heavy wooden swords and shields were covered in sweat.

It was Henry's first time practicing with only knights. He felt he had to prove himself despite the hangover that was weighing him down.

For nearly two hours he had suffered through the feeling that he wanted to throw up the small breakfast he had eaten, but he was determined not to make a fool out of himself. Knights he once looked up to were now his equals and he would do his best to try and prove his worth while he was there.

When he was certain his shoulders were going to fall off just as the commander had ordered, he thought his work was finished.

However, he heard the commander start passing out blocking sticks and he knew his test wasn't finished yet.
