The clanking of armor could be heard throughout the camp as the knights got ready to head into battle.
In the days leading up, they had kept a closer watch on the duke's tower and the hill surrounding it, watching for any sign of attack from the monsters.
The commanders had decided that it would go one of two ways if the monsters attacked again. Either they would be too weak to battle efficiently as they did before or they would have called for more help and bulked their numbers up in order to stand any kind of chance.
As the lookout at the top of the ancient wall blew their horns to say they saw the monster army forming, an arrow shot into the camp. No one could tell where it originated from.
Most men were eating breakfast so they were quick to head to the armories.
