They had slept in the same bed many times before. Yet, after the wedding, whenever Henry woke up to the sight of Irene's bare body covered in marks as a testament to their love-making, he knew his life was forever changed for the better. She was his and he felt that life was finally everything he wanted it to be.
On the fourth day he was able to call her his wife, Henry woke up with his bare chest pressed against Irene's naked back.
He nestled in closer and put an arm around her slender waist. With a small smile on his face, he nuzzled against the back of her head, her red hair tickling his nose.
Normally she slept with a braid in her hair but she had been going to sleep with her hair down and Henry couldn't get enough of her silken strands. He hoped that if they were ever lucky enough to have children, they would look like her.
