The days were getting hot and the only time it made sense to practice sword fighting was early in the morning.
Not having access to their usual training gear, the apprentices used the swords they would take into battle. Most of the time they only did drills and hit their swords against the air, but the commander allowed them to participate in matches with each other when they seemed to have more energy to burn off.
Henry had finished his practice off by having a quick spar with Sir Trenton.
Each man had something weighing on their mind and they were going unnecessarily hard on each other.
Sir Trenton was nervous about his injury. It seemed like such a small wound at first, but the more he exercised the worse it was starting to feel and he was worried about being decommissioned just as his father was because of an injury.
