Henry could only stare with wide eyes at Irene who just admitted that she had accepted having his child one day. He didn't realize she was looking far into their future the same way that he was
"You, what?" he asked a bit dumbly, his mind seemingly shutting down at her comment.
He wondered if she would be this open with him if it weren't for the fact she had too much to drink.
"I've never had this desire before," she admitted softly, her cheeks blushing further. "It's just that when you're close to me I can't help but wonder what it's like to do everything with you. Imagine a beautiful little baby with your tan skin and my red hair. What a beautiful child that would be."
She held her arms to herself as if the baby she was referring to was already with them.
Henry didn't know what was wrong with him. The wistful tone she used was making a lump grow in his throat. He did not doubt that she would be a wonderful mother.
