Henry had to pull away from Irene but, based on his body language of taking a step forward and holding his arm back, he had every intention to protect her from the interruption. For once, she didn't mind because she didn't have her usual sword on her hip and a wooden sword wouldn't do much against anyone.
However, Henry was relieved to see Sylaron staring at the two of them.
Her nose was steaming and she seemed to be on alert. Her neck stretched to the sky as she tried to look over Henry and at the person he was hiding behind himself.
Henry thought about how it wasn't fair she could sense him from anywhere but each time she arrived it was a surprise. He only heard her broken thoughts when she allowed him to. Even then, they were becoming rare.
"Calm down, girl," Henry urged her. "I'm not in any danger."
Irene reached forward and touched Henry's hand.
"What are you talking about?" Irene asked quietly.
