It was alarmingly clear to Henry that those who started dancing were only doing so to try and catch a bit of Irene and Henry's conversation. As the space around them started to fill up, it was no longer possible to keep an appropriate distance from one another.
Henry had mistaken that he was enough of a man to hide his growing feelings for the woman within his grasp. However, the moment he felt her chest press against his when someone stood behind her, all control he had on himself faltered for a moment and he accidentally squeezed her waist for a moment before having to let go completely.
With his face feeling hot, he kept a grip on her hand, debating on whether or not to pull her forward.
"Shall we cool off?" he asked her.
Irene was too caught off guard to do anything more than nod. She was worried she had offended Henry even though it wasn't her intention to run into him. At least she knew him well enough to know he wasn't mad.
