Celia resisted sleep as she waited for Callum to return with news about her son. However, under the warm blankets he had helped her into before he left, she found it hard to stay awake. It had been nearly a month since she was away from this place that was starting to become her home. She had gotten too used to the modest opulence of Callum's bedroom - everything was finely crafted though nothing was over the top.
She didn't even notice she had fallen asleep when she felt a hand cover hers and her eyes fluttered open.
Rather than Callum, who she was expecting, she saw Henry looking down at her with more concern than he had ever given her before. It broke her heart and she wondered how she could restore the carefree expression he wore a few years ago when he was younger.
"My boy," she uttered and her eyes immediately welled up with tears.
