The moment those words left Alix's lips, the blonde knight knew that he hit the nail on the head.
The anger within Henry that had been protecting him subsided and what was left was anguish.
Alix no longer had any doubt that whoever hurt Henry was certainly the princess. He also knew that Henry wouldn't want to talk to anyone about it because then the doubts he had about himself would come rushing in. All the warnings he had been thrown for the entire duration he had been courting the princess would be right. It was hard for him to admit when someone who was being unfair to him was right.
"Is that all?" Henry asked. "You found out the princess is the root of all my issues. Is your curiosity satisfied enough that you can leave me in peace now?"
When Alix's already perfectly arched eyebrow raised even further Henry knew that he wasn't going to get out of it so easily.
