It was the first time for the three Knights of Chemois to participate in a banquet at the castle.
While the King of Peroda was technically the sovereign of Chemois because he was who occasionally sent aid to the north if required, the knights did not have a close relationship with the monarchy. To Chemoians, there was a bit of bad blood. They felt forgotten by the king most of the time and the way he had dragged his feet to choose a duke didn't go unnoticed by anyone in the north.
Word was slowly spreading through the north that a duke had been decided. However, all of the usual suspects were forgotten in the decision. Many had assumed that it would be Sir Felix to eventually take over but he was more of a traditionalist and felt he had to honor the late duke's wishes regardless if it was what he wanted or not.
