"Celia, we have something to discuss."
Her wide brown eyes stared up at the commander and she looked like a lamb ready to be slaughtered. She was immediately terrified.
By her expression, he wondered if she had anticipated his words and had been dreading them ever since she realized he hadn't changed from all the way back then. He didn't know that she was terrified of losing him after finding a little bit of comfort in life even though it had taken a long time to adjust to her new circumstances.
"Let's go to the fireplace in my quarters," he said. "It's cold in the larger rooms this late."
Not to say that his room was by any means small, but the maids had been sure to make it warm from the moment he arrived. It ought to be comfortable since he had to organize his knights and apprentices to get in a meal before they retired for the night.
