Despite the cold weather, he could feel sweat trickling down his back at the stress of the situation. His heart was pounding as the thrill of the fight started making him more reactive and honed into the situation.
The knight was regretting his decision not to use a shield. Nothing could have prepared him that there was a possibility of multiple beasts being chosen to fight.
He had his left hand outstretched towards the first dire wolf but his eyes and sword were towards the larger one. However, he decided it would be best to tuck his other hand in. He'd rather face the wolf with a metal greave rather than the leather covering his palm.
The knight decided he needed to act rather than wait for the others to take the offensive stance. He lurched toward the smaller dire wolf and attacked with his elbow and sword at the same time, hoping he could take it down with such sudden movement.
