Henry was proud of his knighthood for winning and his heart started to pound when he saw the king nod at who must have been Commander Lothian. He reminded himself to look in that direction when he was finally out. He wanted to see the commander who had brought him that far.
Before the herald left, he announced the final match. However, the details were vague. Even the person competing was going to be vague.
As the herald walked by him, he spoke to Henry.
"It's your turn," he said, using a quiet voice for the first time Henry had ever heard. "May God be with you."
The words were ominous but Henry still gave a nod.
"Thank you," the knight said, surprised he could even get the words out.
He couldn't leave the cover of where he stood before hearing the knights he respected the most calling out there wishes of good luck. He smiled at them and started to walk out into the knights' yard, his helmet in his arms.
