Henry's gaze was intense for a moment as confusion struck him.
"I wanted to apologize for doubting your intentions with her highness before," the maid timidly said.
She had been approaching the princess's room when Henry burst out of the door, nearly knocking her off her feet in the process. He had gone the other way or he would have certainly tackled her. After hearing the last of his words to the princess, she could only imagine what they had argued about.
The princess had been holed up in her room the entire day and each time the maid went in to clean up, the princess seemed to have been crying.
However, after reading all the good things about him in the book, the maid knew that he was a loyal knight. His words to the princess had only confirmed that. Yet she had the audacity to doubt him when he wanted to bring the princess her dinner.
Trying to rectify the situation, she brought him a drink and followed him outside.
