When Henry and Alix arrived to the commander's fortress and went through the gate after being allowed entry, they were surpsied that the commander was nowhere to be found.
After asking the ones guarding where the commander had gone, they gave a simple "he left" and there was nothing more said about the details.
After separating from Alix who returned to his barrack for the evening, Henry was curious and went to the back of the stable where the largest area was reserved for the commander and the apprentices who served him directly. He saw that the black horse he rode the most was nowhere to be found.
Henry's eyebrows rose and he gave the nearest horse a pat as she came forward and huffed at the night.
"Goodnight," Henry said to the mare. "Make sure the commander arrives back safely."
