With the kelpie further off than before, the knights felt there was at least room to breathe.
They decided, for the time being, it would be best not to leave the bush until they could no longer see the kelpie which wandered further and further away with its misleadingly skittish nature.
However, their illusion of a moment to rest was shattered when they all took notice of the magical barrier being erected above them. As soon as the flash of light disappeared, they knew they were surrounded.
The rain had stopped. It fell onto the barrier and rolled off, no longer reaching the inside of the forest.
What they had used as a cover for their noise, was suddenly taken away.
The knights had to resist standing and pulling out their swords as a response to the uncertainty of the situation. The Kelpie wasn't far enough away for such sudden movements.
