Henry only allowed himself to react when he was out of view of the room full of nobles and a mage.
The moment the door was shut behind he and the commander, he sighed.
"We already suspected the king knew about the dragons," the commander reminded the knight. "You look more stressed than happy. I thought you would be more enthused about being considered for the noble title."
"It's hard to rejoice when he constantly has ulterior motives," Henry expressed. "Guessing what someone is really implying is exhausting."
The commander smiled.
"Peasants are all the same," he joked. "But you're a knight now and can't take everything at face value."
When they were in the wild, Henry would have lunged at the commander and joked that they ought to settle the teasing with a spar but he could only take the comment on the chin.
