The commander's eyebrows raised at the younger knight. When Henry wore such a guilty expression, he reminded him of how he used to be when they first met one another.
Callum was full of conflicting feelings of being glad Henry no longer needlessly feared everything he did and thinking he could perhaps fear him a little bit more.
After seeing him in such an uninhibited state as being in Polona together, he was sure there was no going back to their unfamiliarity with one another. Perhaps he might not be able to hold back the favoritism he was starting to feel for the youngest knight along with the three other knights who were his former apprentices.
After going through the ground, it felt like the commander had an awakening and the things around him were more precious than before.
"We'll both have to carry some on the way back," the commander said. "I don't think there's another option."
