Henry was surprised to see the commander being so forthcoming with Katerina around but perhaps she had knowledge already considering her past with the commander and having a son in the knighthood.
The commander took another drink of the cider in his cup, putting a large dent in the amount left. Katerina continued topping his drink off even though she had only had a little bit in comparison to the knights around her.
"Nikron, the district of mages, lies north of Polona," Callum explained. "From there, they have put up a magic barrier around Polona to keep too many monsters from destroying surrounding villages and towns. It takes constant monitoring and fixing," the commander gave a slight frown as he spoke. "I don't understand the magical side of the barrier, I just know what it does."
Katerina glared at the commander and seemed somewhat offended.
