Henry had told the commander that he preferred traveling with fewer people, but the moment he saw signs of civilization, he started feeling warm again. He had missed being around others far more than he thought.
The commander was the best person to travel with but his lack of words made Henry too introspective - he didn't like being absorbed in his thoughts for that amount of time.
When the ground evened out and they were no longer on a hill, they walked through the trees until they came across a dirt road with a few people already walking on it. One of the people was pulling a mule with a lot of supplies in its cart.
"Afternoon," the man said. "Not too many mercenaries around here these days."
Callum and Henry nodded at the man and offered him a quick greeting but they were quick to move ahead since he was walking slowly.
