Henry finished what he could with the rope that he had and was grateful when the older man returned with more of it.
"Thank you," Henry said. "Is everyone okay? There aren't any injuries are there?"
"Nothing we can't take care of ourselves, sir," the man said. "Thank you for finding my daughter."
The man was lighthearted despite what he had been through. He couldn't keep from joking with the knight as he watched him do his work.
"You engaged?" he asked with a grin. "A knight would be a good thing to have in the family."
Henry turned to the man with raised eyebrows and a confused smile on his face. There were far stranger reasons for a father to give his daughter away for marriage. Someone saving his family wasn't the worst idea ever.
The man had a playful smile on his face but Henry couldn't help answering honestly.
"My heart is spoken for, sir," Henry said. "Though I'm honored by such a sudden offer."
