Chapter 135 - A Runaway

Commander Lothian put a scarf over the lower half of his face and only wore the top half of his armor along with greaves and gloves. The rest of his ensemble was dedicated to warmth more than protection in the form of wool or leather to keep in all of his body heat. The black color of everything kept him nearly undetectable under the cloud cover of early winter.

He was tasked with patrolling the southern and half of the eastern part of Hydrogia's wall. There was a Royal Knight he would periodically see throughout the night who would be doing the north - the west was the peasant village or the ocean and received little attention from knights.

Yet, the commander always at least dipped into the village and made sure there were no disturbances. He couldn't rest well knowing he didn't do the full job of protecting all the people of Hydrogia.
