"Good evening, Commander," Henry greeted politely after he opened the door. "You wanted to see me?"
The commander sat facing the door at a dark wooden desk in a modestly decorated room. There were two large bookshelves behind him that were mostly empty.
To the right, there was a long table on top of a large plain area rug where the commander held private meetings on the off chance that someone important came all the way to the fortress to visit him. The only times the table had been used were surprise visits. He never requested a meeting from anyone unless it was an emergency.
"Give me one moment," the commander said and pointed toward one of the chairs at the table.
There were a few minutes of silence after Henry took a seat. He awkwardly looked around and wondered why he was asked there in the first place.
