He was frozen for a moment as thoughts of Rosalind came back to him. Memories of The way he found himself relying on her for his happiness when he was in Chemois became fresh in his mind once again. His dependency on her letters. He wondered if he would ever receive another one from her.
The princess waited patiently as Henry seemed to gather his thoughts.
"I'm not sure how much you know about what happened in Chemois, princess," he explained. "There were civilians trapped inside of the duke's tower. A maid named Rosalind helped us get back into the castle and rescue the others." He had a faraway look on his face as he spoke. "There were fire-breathing salamanders inside the kitchen and the floor collapsed underneath us when we were inside. I fell into an old well and she fell on top of me." Henry felt his back through the soft material of the robe. "I supposedly broke ribs and bled a bit but doubted the healer who told me that."
