The Royal Family watched the live coverage of the archery finals at the palace's huge entertainment hall. Even the frail Queen Lucinda was there, as was the young prince Yohan, who had grown taller.
When Princess Amaya released her last arrow, and it hit the bullseye, the entertainment hall was filled with shouts of joy, especially those of the children. King Duncan and Queen Lucinda clapped their hands just like their grandchildren did. Only Danella and Nelida remained reserved and did not applaud.
"My King, we should hold a grand welcome ceremony for Amaya when she returns. She brought honor to the country by winning a gold medal. We finally have a gold medal after a long time," Queen Lucinda said, her eyes beaming with pride.
