Chapter 6 - At the palace

"Better." The boy said as he folded his arms.

"It's night already. Don't you know, masquerades parade at night?" Tym arched a brow.

The boy instantly glanced around at Tym's words. "What do you mean by masquerades? There are no masquerades around!" The boy peered at Tym, "you are the masquerade!"

"Oh, my mask?" Tym chuckled. "I'm no masquerade. But if you continue to stay here, even if I leave, the hideous masquerade is going to catch you." Tym said before she turned and started for the palace. Without turning to look at the child, she already knew he was already halfway across the playground, and towards his home.

Tym hastened towards the palace, to get back the stubborn girl.

She never planned to cross this side until they leave.

However, Cicil had to make her do that.

"If I get hold of that girl, I will strangle her." She vowed as she crossed over to the beautiful tarred road that led to the palace.

Unlike the other parts of the city, both sides of the tarred road that led to the palace were lined with a garden of flowers that started from the beginning and ended near the gates.

"The rich." Tym scoffed as she walked up to the gates.

If this was to be one of the missions has gone to, she won't need to go through the gates when she can easily jump in through the fence.

However, this wasn't one of her missions. She was here to get back the stubborn girl named Cicil.

"Halt! Where are you going?" One of the guards stationed outside the gate stopped her from going further.

His eyes narrowed at the masked man.

"I'm here to bring my sister back," Tym said with a lazy drawl.

If not for one thing, she won't be standing here, listening to the guard. She would have gone in there with just a kick on the wall, and a smooth jump.

"Your sister?" The guard laughed, "do you think the palace is a child's playground?"

"I don't care what you say." Tym frowned, "I don't have the time to waste with you." She made to continue to the gates, but the guard stopped her.

"Where do you think you are going?" He narrowed his eyes at the masked man. "How dare—"

Tym didn't wait for him to complete his words. Just a kick from her was enough to send him sprawling to the ground.

He hastily rose from the ground and attacked Tym.

Already anticipating the attack, Tym deflected the kick from him as she expertly kicked him in the stomach. She landed on him and knocked him out with a finger to his throat.

Tym stood up, and with a glance around, she headed to the gate and knocked on it.

"Who's that?" A guard called out.

"I'm here to take back my sister."

"Your sister?" The guard was perplexed, "who are you?"

"Tym."

"Tym? Who's that?"

"Open the gate, and you will know," Tym said in a perfectly calm voice.

"Go away Tym, the royal family aren't receiving visitors."

"And you think I care about that?" She scoffed.

The guards at the other end were confused.

No one has spoken confidently as this strange man has, standing in front of the gate.

"What of the guard outside? Where is he?"

They wondered why the guard wasn't saying anything. It wasn't in his person to stand by without doing anything.

"He's sleeping." Tym glanced at the man, "if you don't want to join him, I will advise you to open the gate. If not—"

"Who are you?"

The guards opened the gates at her words. They didn't do so because she threatened them, it was the statement she made about one of their own.

It was what sent them to action.

"Good." Tym smiled at them, "now, where is my sister?" She narrowed her eyes at them.

"Get him!" The head of the guards shouted as he pointed to Tym.

"Pathetic." Tym scoffed as she watched them, with an eyebrow raised.

The three men rushed towards her, intent on outnumbering them, however, what they never figured out was how powerful she was.

With a kick, Tym sent them flying to different sides. She rushed towards them and kicked them down before they thought to rise.

It was like a play to her as she went through the guards, who were rumoured to be the strongest men in the city.

"Strongest men?" She scoffed.

It was pathetic watching the so-called men as they fell to the ground with just a kick from her.

Groaning, the men on the floor tried to rise, but before they can, Tym ran through them once more and kicked them to the ground.

She didn't give them breathing space to retaliate.

"Later, when you see the Masked Tym, you will know who you are up against." With a glare at the men on the floor, she entered the palace.

One of the fallen soldiers whistled, to alert those inside the palace of what was happening out there.

"Pathetic." Tym scoffed at the guard as she headed into the Palace.

And not for the first time since she arrived, she regretted not climbing the wall like she would have done.

If only she knew how stubborn the guards will be, she would have done that.

Who knows, she might have found her sister by now.

At the sound of the whistle, twenty guards ran out from the castle.

And like the others at the gates, Tym didn't waste time in cutting them off.

She didn't kill them, what she did was make sure they remained on the floor until she completes the task she came for.

"Where is my sister?" She asked the guards. "Where is she?" She yelled when none of them answered.

All they did was groan in pain.

"Are you looking for her?" The prince came out of the palace, holding Cicil's hands.

"Tym!" Cicil smiled when she saw her.
