"Okay, everyone we will be taking a 10-minute break."
"In the meantime we need you all to vote for your Cloud Haven School King and Queen."
"And don't forget to post any videos and pictures you take onto Managram!"
"See you soon!"
The idols said one by one before disappearing behind the stage curtains.
"Man that was so awesome! It's so much better watching them perform live, they are even sexier in person." Timo said with a besotted expression and flushed cheeks.
"I think the one with purple hair wants me dude. Our gazes met so many times that I'm sure she was looking for me in the crowd the entire time."
"She was probably checking out her reflection on your shiny head. There's no way you can bag a girl like Miss Reina."
"If you want a girl of that high quality you better be quick with it, with Vasari not being here I think it's the perfect time to get high-class girls like her. When he comes back you already know he is going to be collecting girls like that PokiYugi game you guys play."
A look of realisation dawned on the boys after hearing what Jude said. Why didn't they think of this earlier?! They wasted this opportune time by diligently cultivating like idiots instead of picking up hot girls. How were they so stupid?
"We might still have some time, we have no idea when he will be back." Although saying this, Jett wasn't really worried since he had been talking to a girl he liked for quite some time now and their relationship was slowly but surely progressing into more than just friends.
"Enough about girls, let's go vote and get something to drink. All this singing is making my throat dry."
After casting their votes, getting something to drink and bantering around for a few more minutes, the boys made their way back to their previous position. Y5A soon came back on stage and the party continued as if it never stopped.
Once the idol group performed all the songs they planned for the night, one of the idols left the stage while another made an announcement.
She was a bit out of breath, but that was only natural after constantly singing and dancing for over an hour, her forehead was glistening with perspiration and her moderate-sized chest heaved up and down, teasing the boys below her. "Thank you for being such a wonderful audience tonight, Unfortunately, we only have one song left to perform and it is reserved for the King and Queen of Cloud Haven School, who we will be announcing right now."
Her words were not met with a round of applause as one would expect but instead with a few grumbles and mumbles. There was no suspense about who the King and Queen would be, so the youths thought it was a waste of time.
The idol who left the stage quickly returned with a scroll in her hands. "Without further ado, the King and Queen of the Cloud Haven School are…", The idol said as she slowly unfurled the scroll until two names appeared on the paper. She raised her head and with a big toothy smile, she announced the winners.
"Witney Jacobs and Vasari!"
The hall was comically silent after the names were announced. Everyone was expecting to hear Talia and Alex's names since they were 2nd and 1st on the school leader board and the most popular due to their titles of Princess and son of a Duke, but to their surprise, they didn't end up winning.
Everyone's surprise came not from hearing Witney's name, mainly because she and Talia had similar levels of popularity, but because of a name that they haven't heard in quite some time.
Alex was probably the most surprised person in the entire hall. His expression was ugly and just as he was about to protest, he and everyone in the hall heard the loud neighing of a horse. All the students turned around in curiosity and through the open doors of the hall, they saw the only black cloud Pegasus in the entire Cloud Haven Sect land a few metres away from the entrance.
However, it wasn't the Pegasus that captured everybody's attention, but the young man riding on top of it wearing a white tuxedo that heavily contrasted the black coat of the Pegasus.
A few gasped, a few were stunned into silence, a few salivating from one or both lips and all were aroused by the titillating scene of the tall young man wearing the white tuxedo jumping off the horse. In his right hand was a large bouquet of blue and purple hyacinths, floating behind him were three more bouquets of hyacinths although not as extravagant as the one in his hand.
"Mana control..." Alex subconsciously muttered, but due to the silence, everybody was able to hear it. His tone was laced with envy and confusion. Mana control was only possible once you have converted at least 50% of the Superior Qi stored in your Dantian into Mana. You also had to have good control and high affinity to pull it off. It was when thinking this, that Alex remembered the absurdly high-affinity Vasari had towards Mana.
The young man walked into the hall with unfaltering strides, a smile of supreme self-confidence and an air of superiority. When he made his way to the edge of the crowd of students, they parted like the red sea for him to walk through and at the end of the pathway, a stunned Witney stood staring at his figure unblinkingly. Tears threatened to fall from the tips of her eyelashes, however, it refused to fall.
With every step the man took, Witney had to slightly tilt her head up to keep her gaze focused on his perfect, beyond-descriptive face. When the man was just a metre away from her, he got down to one knee and held up the bouquet until it blocked his face from her view. Everybody in the hall heard a deep, husky and alluring voice spread throughout the area. He was speaking out loud, yet it was solely directed at one person.
"I'm sorry for taking so long, My Queen."
Witney no longer held back her tears and let them fall from her eyes.
"Took you long enough, dummy." She said with a shaky voice.
Vasari apologetically smiled behind the flowers. He felt like a scumbag for letting his girl cry and worry so much. He quickly stood back up before wrapping his muscular arms around her body and pulling her into his embrace.
The floodgates fully opened when she felt the familiar feeling of his arms wrapped around her body and his scent that sent her crazy so many times before. While she cried into his chest, Vasari rubbed her back and patted her head.
"I'm sorry.", was all he could say, causing Witney to hum.
While Vasari and Witney had their loving reunion in the middle of the hall, many whispers filled the surroundings.
"Is he more handsome than before?"
"Is that even possible?"
"I don't know, but hot damn!"
"Ahh~ I wish I could be nestled like that in his arms. So envious."
Hiding in the crowd, Asher, Timo, Jude and the others watched the scene with mixed emotions. On one hand, they were ecstatic that Vasari was finally back, but on the other hand, they were devastated that their golden opportunity was wasted.
Jiang Xia, Gia and Talia watched the romantic scene with smiles but in the depths of their eyes was a light of desire and with every passing moment, it shone brighter and brighter.
Alex saw this from the side and his jaw clenched in frustration and anger. That look...what does he have to do to receive a look like that from her. He was patient, he was kind, he was wealthy, he was talented, he had a rare Sky grade physique and he was a personal disciple of a Core Haven Elder. He was the perfect man for her and yet, she never looked at him with anything other than a gaze filled with indifference.
'Why...WHY! WHY! WHY! WHY! WHY! WHY! WHY! WHY! WHY! WHY! WHY!'
Alex looked at Vasari with eyes filled with burning hatred, but what he saw made his blood boil.
Vasari slightly rotated his head to face his direction. A smug grin adorned his devilishly handsome face before it seamlessly returned to normal. With Witney still snuggled in his embrace, Vasari willed the 3 bouquets floating behind him to hover towards the three beautiful young ladies standing opposite him.
"These are for you."
Talia, Jiang Xia, and Gia stretched their arms out in front of them to grab the bouquets before pulling them into their embrace. They thanked him with flushed cheeks, even Talia had a slight blush increasing her feminine appeal.
"Fuck, are you guys taking notes?" DT asked with a look of awe and reverence. He was watching a master at work.
"Already got it written down. I'll send copies later." Jaxon said while frantically scribbling something down on a small notepad.
------
"Apparently, it's customary for the Cloud Haven School King and Queen to share a dance. Will you lovely ladies on stage perform a song for us?"
Vasari asked the idols on stage who were completely taken aback by his appearance, however, they were professionals and quickly composed themselves after hearing his request.
"Of course. This is a new song we have yet to release so you will be the first to hear it." The idol with purple hair, who went by the stage name 'Reina', said with a bright smile.
Vasari nodded his head in her direction, "That would be perfect."
The idols swiftly prepared themselves and started performing their new, unreleased song.
"Would My Queen like to share a dance with this lowly man?"
Witney looked up at him with glistening, slightly pinkish eyes. Her gaze was filled with pure, unadulterated affection that greatly moved Vasari. For a moment he felt as if it was his Nana staring at him.
"Does this 'lowly man' deserve a dance from his Queen?"
"Haha, not at all."
Vasari said while moving his hands to her hips before lifting her in the air and spinning around. Witney giggled like an innocent child, enjoying the wind blowing against her face. When Vasari brought her back down she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Just so you know, I have no idea how to dance. It's my first time, so please be gentle." Amused by his words, Witney jumped up and quickly pecked his lips with hers.
"Just follow my movements, I'm sure you'll be a natural."
As she predicted, Vasari quickly caught on to her movements and the couple enjoyed a romantic and intimate dance together under the envious eyes of many in the hall.
Floating in the sky above the gym hall, Miss Covington had a small smile on her face as she listened to the music coming from inside.
'Ahh, the things I do for my students. You better have a damn good thank you present for me.'
