Devious thoughts for the elder mind filled Ryan's mind. He said to the retreating figure of the elder and his guards.
"These bars are the only limitation you have against me"
The elder looked at the furious Ryan. Enthusiasm filled the elder's mind regarding Ryan's surprising rebellious attitude on display. He was happy, at least the bars would serve as some restrictions to Ryan's plans.
Ryan flushed, his eyes on the bars that were high up. Happiness filled his heart as he could still see the stars of the night, which made his mind filled with the thoughts of Adrienne, his mate.
How would she ever know the better side of me? When do I ever see you again? These bars are truly my limitation.
"Here's food," said a servant who interrupted his introspection. Ryan couldn't recognize this particular servant. His face was all covered.
Ryan was suspicious about the sudden change of the elder's decree, so he said
"The food is not mine, take it out of here"
The servant is not scared of Ryan's words.
He's just not helping himself. If he only knew that it's to his credibility.
"Just take it"
"I hear distant voices"
"Who's there?" said the night guard who was appointed to watch Ryan very closely.
Ryan watched in amazement as the servant quickly jumped the high window of the dungeon. Ryan knew that two things were to happen.
Either the servant dies or the servant is an expert in the art of jumping high buildings.
Ryan quickly took the plate of food and hid deep in his dungeon. The guard watched him very closely enough. Ryan smart enough not to arouse any suspicion from the guard watched him closely as he stalked away back to his post.
Ryan ate his food in delight and satisfaction. The people cared about his well-being. Ryan searched around for a way to free himself from these bars that were his limitations.
Ryan hated limitations. He loved going past his limit to achieve his goal. His mind was already made up and built with thoughts of overthrowing the elder. He was careful enough not to decide that would endanger the lives of innocent villagers.
Ryan's eyes all blur, and they weary, feeling the effects of the bright morning sun.
"The elder seeks your presence"
"Finally" replied Ryan
Ryan knew that the elder would eventually need his help. Ryan was the only trustworthy and reliable messenger the elder could rely on.
"How was your night in the cell you pathetic fool"
"Interesting and very useful enough old man" replied Ryan.
The elder was amazed at the outburst of Ryan's confidence and courage.
What can I do to this grooming courage of Ryan? It's getting despicable!
"You sent for me"
"Hurry, take this to the Westport council. They must act according to my decrees in this letter".
What's the elder planning? He's involving the Westport council. He's up to something big.
"What's going on in your head, Ryan?"
Ryan bowed his head and the letter fell in his hands. Ryan made up his mind that he would read this letter.
The Westport council is one of the strongest units in Ireland. Any decision made with the aegis of the Westport council cannot be altered or rejected. That decision would be done with the utmost effect, notwithstanding if it's wrong or right.
Ryan strolled outside, where his horse was waiting for him. He climbed and galloped out of the palace grounds.
Ryan knew the journey would be for a day or two. The journey had only two stops. The first one was at the Dublin Palace and the other one at the Waterford valley.
Ryan invited two important people on this journey. He invited a seal maker and a good linguist for them to pass borders before arriving at Westport.
"I don't trust Ryan on this long journey," the elder said to himself
Ryan has become despicable, and trusting him would be like dropping a slim stone in an ocean and also knowing it would sink.
I shouldn't have sent him with that parcel, but what more can I do with these pathetic, exploited villagers? I'll make do with him and when I have the support of the Westport council, Ryan would have no edge against me!
"Why are we traveling with you sir?" the seal maker asked
"I'll be needing you all on this journey" Ryan answered
"Why do you need us, sir?" The linguistic asked.
"Well, I know you all hate the elder as much as I do. I also know that with you two we would avert this impending danger that would befall us if the elder remains the Alpha of Glengariff before the Ultimatum"
Ryan answered.
Ryan knew zilch about the ultimatum. His parents made mention of the word occasionally. It's a whole new puzzle for him to solve.

Dublin Palace was known for its peculiar beauty and nature-filled atmosphere. The border was guarded heavily to avoid betrayal or trust. The linguist did his job to perfection. The border was opened to them, and they hobbled on their horses freely in the streets of Dublin.
Ryan searched for an inn where they would lay rest and eat. Their horses would be fed to avoid lapses on their way to the next stop. The Waterford valley.
The inn was quite exquisite for them all. Ryan quickly locked the door, gazing at the parcel he was to deliver to the Westport council. Ryan noticed a surprising interest in the parcel.
The seal maker was an expert in his art. He could craft the Alpha's seal and also his signatory. Ryan knew that he had used it on many occasions to dupe people of money and valuables.
Ryan opened the letter and read thus
The castle of Glengariff sends cavalry greetings to the Westport Council
A decision has been made and would need your full aegis for it to be accomplished
The bargain for this deal would be 1 million Euros and other beneficiaries that would come after the decision is accomplished.
Alpha of Glengariff.
Ryan understood the full use of the high taxes that the elder imposed on the poor villagers.
"It's time to turn the tables," Ryan said to himself
