Chapter 1 - Ch 1-Stop sucking my soul—Part 1

It had rained constantly for the past few days so when the sun came out of its hiding place to shine in all its glory, people flocked to the streets before the sun had a change of mind. It was the kind of fine evening where even a guy like me, who spends about 90% of his time inside his room felt like I should go out for a walk.

I had left my apartment about 5 minutes ago and was walking going toward the nearby public park when my stomach suddenly growled to show its dissatisfaction. I stood there on the sidewalk for a few minutes hesitating, but eventually, my stomach won and my feet automatically took me toward my favorite restaurant. It was an Indian restaurant that was just within walking distance from my apartment, they served delicious curry there and the price of food there was very good for my wallet.

About a year ago my parents got into a fatal accident and left me an orphan. The insurance money had been enough for me to be comfortable for a couple of years but after a few months when my account balance started taking a steep drive I realized that my money was finite. I never had too many needs, all I needed was some food to eat, a place to stay, and an internet connection so I didn't need a high-paying job.

The only thing I was good at was consuming novels, anime, and tv shows with no break. At first, I tried to do odd jobs here and there but I was never quite able to have enough motivation to stay consistent at any one of them.

But one day while reading a webnovel, I found a way that I could earn enough money to survive in this world. I found out that people can make money by writing things online and I had always had these thoughts whenever I was reading something online that 'I would do this so much better ' if I was in the place of the MC. So I started writing web novels full-time to make a living... Literally.

For the past few days, I had been stuck on a chapter without having any ideas to move forward so to reboot my mind I started re-reading the HP novels. I had just read a really good fanfiction a couple of days ago and I was feeling really nostalgic about it.

Right now I was at the part where the whole gang was exiting the tunnel under the whomping willow. And Sirius had just asked harry if he wanted to live with him, I always liked that part because my all-time favorite character was Sirius Black.

I was crossing the street with earphones in my ear playing harry potter themed orchestra, I had reached the part where the dementors were gathering around Harry, Sirius, and Hermione with Harry trying his hardest to cast the Patronus charm.

I was so engrossed in the novel that I didn't realize that I had already stopped walking. At that time I saw something moving in my periphery and when I looked up I realized that I was in the middle of the road and a truck was heading straight toward me with blinding speed. Before I could even blink or think "OH SHIT", I was struck with a great amount of force all across my body and I was sent flying across the street like a ragdoll.

I felt an all-consuming pain across my whole body as if hot knives were being stabbed into me repeatedly but fortunately for me before I could go insane from the pain I blacked out.

That was supposed to be the last time I would ever breathe but fate had other plans for me.

....

1994, Hogwarts

It was the night of the full moon, and the forbidden forest was filled with noises of various kinds of magical and non-magical. A monstrous howl could be heard from time to time and it had sent all the nocturnal creatures of the forest into a frenzy to return to their nest.

While other places were still somewhat illuminated from the moonlight, a sudden wave of darkness could be seen gathering around in an area just beside the Black lake outside of Hogwarts, The grass, as well as the occasional plant that grew beside the lake, had all been frozen to death.

Dozens of dementors were seen surrounding the fallen forms of three people and sucking all the warmth and happiness out of the surroundings. Two of the dementors had wrapped their hands around the neck of the infamous mass murderer Sirius black and the equally famous Boy-who-lived Harry Potter and were just about to administer the kiss.

Now in almost every parallel universe out there in the multiverse, a Stag Patronus will come staggering along in the nick of time and save the souls of Harry Potter and Sirius Black but, in this universe, while the Patronus was able to rescue Harry Potter's soul, it was just a couple of seconds late to reach Sirius Black who will lose his soul to the dementor.

If the story had followed this path then Harry Potter will have been devastated by Sirius's death. He will demand the answers from the minister and when he didn't give them to him, he would turn to Dumbledore but he would only find disappointment and that would have turned him on a dark path. This world would not have Harry Potter as the savior, but instead, it would have Harry Potter the Dark Lord whose journey began the moment he killed Snape after being taunted about his dead godfather one too many times.

But fortunately for us, this story is not about that, in this alternate timeline, before the dementor could feel satisfied at having consumed Sirius Black's soul, another soul from a mundane world takes this opportunity to occupy Sirius Black's body while leaving a dementor very confused.

...

The first thing I felt was my body shivering uncontrollably, It was almost like I was inside a frozen lake in the middle of Antarctica. I could not even muster the energy required to move a single finger and my body ached as if I had been in a month-long marathon.

My eyes felt very heavy as if I was lifting a ton of weight and the first thing I saw after I opened my eyes was a wraith-like creature that was indistinguishable from the surrounding darkness. Its hands had a tight grip around my neck and its hood was down exposing its terrifying face. Its face was just inches away from me and the only thing that I could make out was that it had no eyes and a wide mouth.

I couldn't muster the required energy to push the creature away from me, I felt as if all the happiness has been sucked out of me, it felt as if I could never be able to smile ever again. Before I could go into a full-on depression and shut down, a huge creature made of light radiating warmth and happiness came out of nowhere and forced away the creature that was holding me along with the dozens of others that I could see surrounding me. The creature of light was a majestic stag with dozens of antlers on its head, it circled the area scaring away the rest of the abominations from coming back before it went away and taking along the warmth it brought.

I felt like I was waking up from a hundred-year-long sleep, and my body needed some time to reboot its system to start working. As I was breathing heavily and trying to get my shit together I realized that I was lying on some kind of grass and as I felt around myself I suddenly noticed that I was not inside my own body. Because while I was not fat to the point of being obese, I was definitely not thin enough to feel my ribs sticking out of my stomach.

Before I could even comprehend any more of the situation I was in, my brain was hit with a sledgehammer of memories out of nowhere. I could suddenly see memories playing inside my head at 100x speed, from the age of a toddler to a teenager to fighting a war and then a long while of just the inside of a cell. It was disorienting to the extreme, my brain felt all mushy, and I could not decide what was up or down or who I was.

After a few minutes of just lying there, my head returned to normal and stopped throbbing a hundred times per second. After comprehending a couple of memories inside my head, I quickly grasped the situation that I was in. The last thing that I could remember of my previous life consisted of me getting into a wrestling match with a speeding truck, and from the recent memories of this body, I can conclude with certainty that I am in the body of Sirius Black.

Whenever I reached the end of a particularly good piece of fiction online, I would always make some kind of a wish to the deity, who was online up above at that moment, for me to be reincarnated into that particular fictional world. But never did I ever believe that I could get my wish fulfilled and that too into the world of Harry Potter, I guess they were right when they said 'Never stop wishing ' (or was it dreaming.... meh).
