Chapter 1 - Chapter 01 Falling Off The Edge

"I found it. I finally found peace," Shung Yun cried as he heard cries and screams from the tv in front of him.

"Mom, they're singing. I can't believe a song so beautiful exists," he said as he looked at the woman beside him.

"Yun'er son, they're not singing," Shung Huiqin said as she softly rubbed Shung Yun's hair.

"But I can hear them singing," Shung Yun said as he stared at the tv.

"They're burning Yun'er," Shung Huiqin said to her son.

"Burning?" Shung Yun muttered as he kept hearing the painful cries from the tv.

"Yes son. They're burning and it's very painful," Shung Huiqin said.

"But I can hear them singing," Shung Yun insisted.

"That's the voices Yun'er. The voices you said speaks to you," Shung Huiqin said.

"The voices aren't pleasant. They're horrible and they keep screaming and shouting," Shung Yun said as he walked towards the tv.

"Yun'er? Yun'er?" Shung Huiqin called out to Shung Yun.

"I want to," Shung Yun said as he placed his hands on the tv screen.

"Yun'er?" Shung Huiqin called as she stood up from the couch.

"Please, I don't want it to end," Shung Yun said as he placed his right ear on the tv screen.

"Yun'er?" Shung Huiqin called as she stood beside Shung Yun.

"I will do anything," Shung Yun said with his right ear still on the tv screen.

Picking up the tv remote, Shung Huiqin shut off the tv.

"No!! No!! No!! No!! No!! Please come back! I will do anything, just please comeback! Please come back!!" Shung Yun screamed as he knelt on the ground with his hands on his ears.

"Yun'er son?" Shung Huiqin called as she knelt in front of her son.

"They're back mom. The voices are back," Shung Yun said as he looked at his mom with tears streaming down his eyes.

"I got you son. Mom got you," Shung Huiqin said as she hugged Shung Yun.

…..

Suffering from psychosis, the fifteen years old Shung Yun kept hearing constant voices and screams in his head, pushing him closer and closer to the edge, until he was finally pushed off six years later.

Ring!!!

"Please move to the emergency at once. We have a fire outbreak in the building," Shung Yun said through the mic in his hand.

"What are you doing? There's no fire outbreak in the building," Shung Yun's co-worker said as he walked into the control room.

Bang!!

Hitting the head of his co-worker with a bat, Shung Yun said while throwing the bat away, "I know."

"Have they put off the fire yet?" a male customer asked manager Hun.

"There's no need to panic. I have the best of the best working in my restaurant," manager Hun said.

"I just…. What's going on?" the male customer asked as he heard coming from the door.

"Shung Yun?" manager Hun called.

"Yes, manager Hun," Shung Yun answered.

"What's going on?" manager Hun asked.

"I want to feel peace again," Shung Yun said as he pressed the button on the wall.

"Aaaahh!!" a female customer screamed as a liquid-like substance splashed out of the pipe in the emergency room.

"This is petrol!" the male customer shouted.

"Shung Yun! What the hell are you doing!?" manager Hun shouted.

"It's all for peace," Shung Yun said as he lit a match.

"Anything for peace," he said as he dropped the lit match on the petrol that leaked through the door to the emergency room.

"Aaaaaahhhhh!!!!"

"SHUNG YUN!! OPEN THE DOOR!! SHUNG YUN!!!" manager Hun screamed as he body got covered in flames.

"PLEASE LET US GO!! PLEASE!!!"

"This is it. Hahaha, this is it," Shung Yun laughed as he spun around with his wide opened.

Running towards the performing stage of the restaurant, Shung Yun sat in front of the keyboard before placing his fingers on the keys.

Playing in response to the screams and cries from the emergency room, tears rolled down Shung Yun's eyes as he played his best musical piece of his entire life.

Twenty minutes later...…..

Crack!!

Buuuuussshhh!!!

Water burst through the windows of the restaurant before slowly quenching the fire in the restaurant.

"Check for survivals," the lieutenants said to his officers.

"Be careful," an officer said to his colleagues as the three of them climbed the stairs to the restaurant.

"Do you know what could've started the fire?" the second officer asked.

"It might be a gas explosion," the final officer said.

"Mhmm. They're a restaurant after all," the first officer said.

"We are here," the final officer said as they stopped in front of the restaurant's door.

"The two of us will go first while second cover our back," the first officer said to the final officer.

"Alright," the final officer said as he moved to the other side of the door.

"Already?" the first officer asked.

"I'm ready," the final officer said as he tightened the grip on his gun.

"Then let move in," the first officer said as he pushed the door open.

Pointing his gun forward, he moved into restaurant with the final officer beside him and the second officer behind them.

Hff! Hff! Hff!"

"Someone is here," the final officer said as he looked at the direction he heard the sound of someone crying.

"Let go check who's that," the first officer said as he walked towards the person crying on his knees.

"Young man, are you okay?" the first officer asked the person crying.

"I...I couldn't save them. I tried but I couldn't save them," Shung Yun said as tears rolled down his eyes.

"It was just too hot. The door was too hot," he said while staring at his burnt palms.

"Can you explain what happened," the first officer asked.

"It all started when a fire broke out due to gas leakage," Shung Yun said as he looked at the officers, "I sounded the alarm and ordered everyone to move to the emergency room."

"Did something happen?" the second officer asked.

"I don't know what happened, but the next thing I knew the entire emergency room exploded with flames all around," Shung Yun said as he pointed at the door to the emergency room, " I tried opening the door to the emergency room, but it was just too hot."

"I will go check the kitchen," the final officer said as he went towards the restaurant's kitchen.

"Can you stand?" the first officer asked Shung Yun.

"Maybe if you help me," Shung Yun said.

"Alright," the first officer said as he went towards Shung Yun's back.

"Here you go," he said as he lifted Shung Yun up.

"Thanks," Shung Yun said as he stood properly.

"Is it true?" the second officer asked as he saw the final officer coming out of the restaurant's kitchen.

"Yes," the final officer said, "he's telling the truth."

"Then let leave here for the forensic department to take over," the second officer said as he turned towards the entrance door.

WHIII!!!

"SHUNG YUN!!" Shung Yun's co-worker shouted as he came out from the control room with blood on his head.

"You bastard! What did you do to everyone!? Why did you lie to everyone that there was a fire outbreak!?" he shouted as he walked towards Shung Yun.

"Stop moving!" the second officer shouted as he pointed his gun at Shung Yun's co-worker.

"Tahn Kai, wha....what are you talking about?" Shung Yun asked his co-worker.

"You hit me with a bat, Shung Yun," Tahn Kai said as he pointed at his head.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Shung Yun said.

"What is he talking about?" the first officer asked Shung Yun.

"I have no idea," Shung Yun said.

"Bastard! You hit my head with a f*cking bat!!" Tahn Kai shouted.

"I'm sorry but the two of you will have to come with us for questioning," the first officer said as he lowered his gun.

"Never!" Shung Yun said as he elbowed the nose of the first officer before grabbing his gun.

"Put down the gun!!" the final officer shouted as he pointed his gun at Shung Yun.

"Night night Tahn Kai," Shung Yun said as he pulled the trigger.

PPAH!!

"Peace," Shung Yun muttered as he fell face flat on the ground with a bloody hole on his head.

"What a mess," the second officer said as he looked at the corpse of Tahn Kai.

"It's all my fault," the first officer as he wiped the blood off his nose.

"He was so calm when he took that shot," the final officer said as he wiped off the blood splashed on his face, "it was like he doesn't care if he died or not."

"There's no need to dwell much on it," the second officer said as he patted the final officer's shoulder.

"The Lieutenant won't be happy about this," the first officer said as he picked up his gun at Shung Yun's side.

"We had no choice," the second officer said as he looked at Shung Yun's corpse, "he was something else."

....

"Where's this place?" Shung Yun said as he looked around him.
