"A new champion of the underground gaming event just weeks away from a big announcement, the future can never really be predicated," a middle-stage middle aged spectator commented as he looked at the middle-stage male teenager putting on a blue colored robe.
"I'm finished," an upper-stage male youth muttered with an absent-minded expression on his face.
"I should've risked it and played him to win the race," a middle-stage male youth thought with a smile on his face as he enjoyed the feeling of winning.
Glaring at Shung Yun as he rode pass him, Tanji Bokan had so much interesting thoughts going through his mind.
Crossing the finish line, Hai Yu turned his horse towards Shung Yun before riding towards him.
"You did great in the race," he said as he arrived in beside him, "I never imagined you could beat young master Bokan."
"Then you better imagine you're getting your freedom tonight," Shung Yun said as he leaped down from Haru's back, "let's switch horses."
"Would he let me ride on him?" Hai Yu asked Shung Yun, "wild-horses aren't so friendly to anyone aside from their riders."
"You don't need to worry about that," Shung Yun said as he softly caressed the left side of Haru's neck.
"You better be right," Hai Yu said before leaping down from his horse.
Leaving his horse's side, he walked towards Haru before slowly climbing on his back with the help of the saddle.
"No matter what happens, do not let go of the halter," Shung Yun warned as he stopped caressing Haru's neck.
"I got it," Hai Yu said as he moved his spiritual Qi to his hands and legs, tightening his hold on the halter connected to Haru's neck and his feet resting on the foot-hold connected to the saddle.
Moving towards Hai Yu's horse, Shung Yun took hold of the halter before using the foot-hold connected to the saddle to raise himself across the horse.
"I'll be waiting for you outside the arena," he said to Hai Yu before riding out of the arena with the other racers.
Having everyone except Hai Yu out of the arena, the official announced, "a special event will take place a few minutes from now. The masked attendants will be going around with a new set of tabulated booklets specifically made for this event. You're all to make your bets before the countdown time finishes."
"So that's why the champion gave him his horse. Hai Yu wants to challenge the record for his freedom," a female spectator thought as she looked at the tabulated booklet in front of her.
"You really took the first place from Bokan," Mr. Guchun said as he looked incredulously at Shung Yun.
"Told you, you should've made a higher bet," Shung Yun said as he rode towards the payment room.
"That was the highest I could safely use, kid. I'm a businessman, not a gambler," Mr. Guchun said to Shung Yun.
"If you're at peace with it, then it's all good," Shung Yun said as he got closer to the payment room.
"How can I ever be at peace with it when I could've made more than a thousand[1000] duan gold pieces if I just staked a little higher," Mr. Guchun thought with an ugly expression on his face.
Arriving at the payment room, Shung Yun and Mr. Guchun both looked for their betting paper on the board covered with a little over hundred papers.
Locating his paper with eight[8] as its heading, Shung Yun took it to the male cashier currently free before decoding his payment with the amount he staked as bet.
"Here's your pay out," the male cashier said as he passed a bowling ball sized leather bag to Shung Yun, "it contains three thousand nine hundred fifty and nine[3959] duan gold pieces."
Taking the bag into his storage ring, Shung Yun easily figured out the total number of duan pieces through his mind-link with the ring.
Nodding his head at the middle aged man as confirmation, he left the payment with his mind on Hai Yu's upcoming race.
Catching up to Shung Yun after leaving the payment room, Mr. Guchun said while passing an apple sized bag to him, "here's your cut."
"You're making way more duan gold pieces than me," he said with a smile on his face as he looked at Shung Yun.
"You're the one who stakes low," Shung Yun said as he rode back to his seat with Mr. Guchun's horse beside his.
"Giving Hai Yu your horse, what are his chances of beating record?" Mr. Guchun asked Shung Yun.
"Ten of ten[10/10]," Shung Yun said confidently to Mr. Guchun, "this is another chance to win big, senior.
"How fast is his wild-horse?" Mr. Guchun looked doubtful as he heard Shung Yun's words.
Calling a masked attendant after arriving at his seat, Shung Yun ticked the [yes] option of Hai Yu breaking the record before passing his entire duan gold pieces, a sum of four thousand three hundred and fifty two[4352] duan gold pieces, to the masked attendant.
Staring at the bowling ball sized bag in the masked attendant's hand, Mr. Guchun was astounded after seeing Shung Yun carrying out what he said he would.
With the [no] option having only 0.1 odd which will be taken by the underground gaming event as their fee after a win, ninety-nine percent of the spectators stayed away from making a bet on the event, leaving only five[5] spectators to place a bet, with only two[2] spectators betting on Hai Yu's success.
"I hope your confident doesn't cause me to lose four hundred and fifty[450] duan gold pieces," Mr. Guchun said as he looked at Shung Yun.
"That will be very sad to see," Shung Yun said to Mr. Guchun, "so, no. You won't lose your bet."
"All bets being carried out should come to a stop," the official announced seven[7] minutes after he spoke about a special event.
Looking at Hai Yu, he said, "you'll begin as soon as the inscription in my hand explodes. Got it?"
"I do," Hai Yu said as he repeatedly tightened his hold on the halter connected to Haru's neck.
Three! Two! One! Boom!!
Whoosh!!
Dashing forward at the speed of a full-rank lower-stage fierce beast, Haru's hooves-steps were hardly heard as the sound of the torn wind drowned it.
"Wow!" Hai Yu exclaimed in shock and disbelief at the speed of the wild-horse underneath him, "it's as fast as a lower-rank Qi birth cultivator!"
"Already crossing two hundred[200] meters in only three and a half[3.5] seconds!" a middle-stage male spectator went insane at Haru's abnormal speed.
"No! No! No! You should finish beyond fourteen[14] seconds! I played that you'll finish beyond fourteen[14] seconds," a lower-stage middle aged man said on his feet as he stared incredulously at Haru and Hai Yu.
"Another slave is getting free by breaking the record," an upper-stage middle aged man said as he watched the time-limit race event.
"Where did the kid find the horse? That's the question that should be looked into," a lower-stage elderly woman sitting beside the upper-stage middle aged man said as she watched Haru crossing four hundred[400] meters in the five hundred[500] meters track race in seven[7] seconds.
"Hehehe! Stopping Haru at the finish line until the time-limit is reached will really twist the expressions of almost everyone watching the race. Especially, Hai Yu and Mr. Guchun. That'll be so interesting to see," Shung Yun thought as he made his choice with a smile on his face.
