Chapter 107 - Chapter 107 History Behind Chief Jue's Blood Crystal

"He's trying to create fear and trepidation in the hearts of our villagers and those under our protection," clan head Xinyi said gloomily as she stood on the entrance walls of the village with the rest of the surviving elders of Byui Village.

"It doesn't matter. I'll send a letter for help to the Flowing River Sect while we lay low in the village's ancestral hall," commander Nai said as he stared at the eleven dantian unsealing realm cultivators of Quing Village.

"We actually lost nine higher-ups to just chief Jue's spear alone. I wonder what treasure or technique he used to increase his attack by so much," commander Ming said as she shook her head when thinking about the state of the village higher-ups.

"Mr. Zui, you seem to know about the danger the blood crystal is capable of dealing. Do you know the story behind it?" commander Nai asked the upper-stage middle aged man beside Shung Yun.

"The blood crystal was first created by a powerful sky-walking realm cultivator who used it to dominate an entire town in the Crimson Crescent Alliance region," Mr. Zui said as he explained the history behind the blood crystal to commander Nai and the rest of the village's higher-ups, "due to the preciousness of the crystal, dozens of experts bounded together in order to force the sky-walking realm cultivator to reveal the details behind his secret art."

He continued, "but despite the faction behind him, he was still forced to enter a death battle with the dozens of experts assaulting him. The end result was that he slaughtered more than eighty[80] percent of the total amount of experts before escaping with fatal injuries which later led to his death."

"But before dying, he left behind a total of three inheritances to cultivators that were fated to receive them. From the information I have, he made his inheritors swear an oath to the moon goddess to avenge his death when they broke through to the sky-walking realm of cultivation."

"From what we saw in the battlefield, it seems like the founder of Quing Village ihherited one of the three inheritances of the powerful sky-walking realm cultivator."

Hearing all that Mr. Zui said, commander Nai asked him, "is the blood crystal a single use item or can it be used continually?"

"It's a single use item. And it can only be created by an individual who own the recipe of the powerful sky-walking realm cultivator," Mr. Zui said as he answered commander Nai's question.

"Is there a possibility that the Quing Village has the recipe? If their founder inherited it, he must have passed it down to his descendants, right?" commander Nai asked, seeking to understand the village's chances of survival.

"You don't have to worry about them being able to create a blood crystal. What you should all be worried about is if the founder of Quing Village left only a single blood crystal or more," Mr. Zui said as he stated the most important knowledge the leaders of Byui Village should be careful of.

"That will depend on how expensive the creation of a blood crystal is," clan head Haoran said as he looked at the scar on the forehead of chief Jue, "how sure are you that the founder o Quing Village didn't leave behind the recipe for the creation of the blood crystal to his descendants?"

"The sky-walking realm cultivator wasn't a believer of any of the orthodox true gods. You must have figured that out when I explained that he forced his inheritors to swear an oath to the moon goddess. There's also a second hinderance in receiving his inheritance. And that is, only him and his inheritors will ever know the recipe for the creation of the blood crystal, no one else," Mr. Zui explained to clan head Haoran, "and if any of his inheritors tries to divulge the details of the recipe, he or she shall die and have their soul taken by the moon goddess."

"That's a little comforting," Elder Shen said as he watched chief Jue ordering his subordinates to surround the vilage.

"Let's gather at the village's ancestral hall," commander Nai said as he leaped down from the village's wall and into the village.

Following closely behind him, the dantian unsealing realm powerhouses all looked down and dispirited as they made their way to the village's ancestral hall.

"They must have all gone into the underground hideout," Shung Yun thought as he rode Haru through the empty streets of Byui Village while following behind the brown colored horse of commander Nai.

Arriving at the village's ancestral hall located in Byui Clan's courtyard, the surviving twelve elder level fighters took their seats as they joined the already seated five old individuals who no longer has their previous strength due to advance age.

"Seems like what little Tang said is true. I can't believe we lost so many old friends and family in just a single day," the middle-stage old man with long lashes reaching his neck said as he looked at the empty seats that would've been occupied if none of the elders had lost their lives.

"There's nothing we can do. We're at war. If we don't find a way to counter attack, we'll be forced to remain in here until we slowly starve to death, or one of our descendants in the Flowing River Sect becomes a sky-walking realm cultivator, or a very powerful dantian unsealing realm cultivator," commander Nai said while seated on his seat, and not the seat of the deceased village chief.

"Have you send words to the Flowing River Sect?" Elder Li asked after commander Nai was done with his words.

"Not yet. I'll immediately send a request for help to the Flowing River Sect after we finish our discussion on how to proceed in this dire times," commander Nai said as he answered the old lady of Shung Clan.

"Senior should wait for a couple more minutes after the discussion ends before sending a request for help to the Flowing River Sect," Shung Yun said as he looked at commander Nai.

"Can you tell me why?" commander Nai asked without an air of superiority in his tone.

"Depending on how long or short the upcoming discussion will be, commander Zhu would either be participating in the discussion or he'll be joining us after we're done," Shung Yun said as he gave commander Nai an explanation.

"And how sure are you? We haven't heard any word from commander Zhu since he left for his mission," commander Nai said to Shung Yun.

"I have my method in finding out the situation of commander Zhu. If there's no unforseen circumstances on his path, the he'll be arriving in thirty to forty minutes," Shung Yun said with a calm expression on his face.

"…," after a few seconds of silence, commander Nai said, "alright. If commander Zhu hasn't arrived after we're done with our discussion, I'll wait for an hour before sending a request for help to the Flowing River Sect."

"That's great," Shung Yun said as he went back to having a carefree expression on his face, not bothered about the state of the war.

"We suffered heavy loses in today's war, losing the village chief, clan head Boyuang, commander Jian, commander Tian, Elder Ling and many more of our friends and loved ones. You can say that our foundation has been severely damaged due to the loses we sustained. Now, we no longer have the strength to contend with the cultivators of Quing Village," commander Nai said as he began the discussion to determine the future of the village.

"We shouldn't be overly dependant on the Flowing River Sect to come to our rescue. We might be under their protection, but if they see that they might sustain loses in their quest to save us, they might choose to leave us to our fate," clan head Haoran said.

"But without depending on the Flowing River Sect, our current strength won't allow us to push back the forces of Quing Village and restore our lives back to normal," clan head Xinyi said to clan head Haoran.
